G'day,

So im lacking in the 405 department with decent heatsinks, so this bad-boy was in-order.

Shes a stainless 26650 host, very nice host, im loving the style of this one, i saw that lazeerer has used it for his "Steel Ice" build and i thank him for bringing it to our attention :)

I had bobhaha make the meaty heatsink for this one, i removed the blue triple trit focus adapter from Flamingpyro, driver and diode from my old guidesman build, but, i notices at 500mA, the SF-BW512P diode was only putting out ~350mW but i had a S06J from DTR sitting here!

I reset the current on the flexdrive V5 to a generous 475mA and thermally glued it to a copper driver heatsink, then that to the pill of this host.

I used thermal paste diode to module and module to heatsink for extra win.

Also put a a bunch of GITD o-rings on the fins of the host and a GITD tailcap to be cool.

Here's how she turned out:

With a 405-G-1 she was very stable at 560mA:

Another monster to the collection,

Thanks for looking,

Fiddy.

You should get rid of this laser :)

Silver shadow host, with gitd rings and tritium adapter

What´s the duty cylce on this one? Ths built deserves an even more efficient 405nm to maybe break the 1W barrier

haha yeah i was thking of binning it

the duty cycle would be above 1min i think, although its cold outside i couldn't feel any heat on the head of the laser, also the power graph is pretty darn stable too.

I definitely agree with DJNY!! But one things for sure, this host is a remarkable host, and your personalize touch of the tritium vials and O-rings makes this a whole new level!!

I set my 12x to 500mA and I´m using a host that takes a big heatsink like the one in the hotlight. I run it for 20 min and the sink was barely warm! I bet yours wont get that much hot after 1 min..

How can you only get 560mW with the G-1??

I´m using the 3 element glass and i kinda thoght i was getting 600mW :p

Wow, That's a real eye pleaser. I am loving the glowing parts all over it. Stunning.

Yeah, this one doesnt heat up much at all :)

The lens is kinda dirty atm, and the diode window has some artifacts on it, but that shouldn't sway much mW, i think its just not a efficient diode i have.

Wow that is insane $142.00 for ceramic paint that glows, it dose look cool in white but I can buy a can of Krylon for $6.00

Sorry for the off-topic below.

When it comes to damn cool 405nm host, this one gets to my mind: SureFire C2 - Bored Custom Ceramic - Glow White - Surefire M/C -

A person here already built a 12x into it, but I can´t find the thread. Anyone able to PM me the link to the thread? Thanks :)

Back to Fiddy´s built

Do it :D

It´s overpriced, no doubt.

Have you done a host with GITD color / powder on it before, Jeff?
