A GGW 6X is, in most cases, very resilient at 190mA's. This current would give about 240mw's using a 405-G-1 glass lens. Or in that neighborhood for a normal efficiency GGW.

So yes, some are getting more than twice the power from an 8X, but it is yet to be determined just how long the diode will last at that kind of power.

I'm a little more on the conservative side at 375mW's, because I don't want to kill mine right away. And if they turn out to be more resilient, then I can turn it up later! :)

need an 8X

I just got my Laserbee I so now all I need is an 8X to check, won't one of you good folks send me one ha ha ha.

the only other thing I need right now is I'd like to see less stupid 5 word posts by people just trying to get there post count up...

I can't agree with you more... those 3 - 5 word useless non-informative
posts are quite annoying and say absolutely nothing... :undecided:
