Sorry about that, your new account has been activated. :cool: Unfortunately we get large volumes of spam on this forum and there is an automated system to vet new registrations to try and cut it down. Sometimes there are false positives.

Sometimes emails get blacklisted and don't get approved. The software picks up on this and moves all potential spam accounts to a list for mod approval. Sorry for the inconvenience

Why exactly does helium-3 work better than helium-4 as regarding pumping of neon to a metastable level? Is it to do with its velocity distribution at a given temperature (faster than He-4), or redistribution of energy after collisions with neon atoms. There might be a better coincidence with levels due to helium hyperfine structure or isotope shift though this most likely work for only one line.
