You want your host sprayed?

I work in the car industry this is not a problem for me.

It would be water based car paint (192+ a 1 litre tin) being used.

Then clear coat lacquer sprayed on, any defects will be polished out.

At the moment if anyone wants it done it will only be a one colour paint job.
Then when my skills develop I may try different things if people request it.

But don't get me wrong it will be a very good paint job.
It's just that I only spray cars because they needed repairing, not because it's a custom paint job.

I bet there are people doing this already so I don't expect many replies.

Seeing as I'm at low rep and fairly new I can see that people may be less inclined to trust me.

Edit: I'm not at work at the moment, the week after next I am back.

Also I can fade colours if you like.

Edit: It would be easier for hosts that are not already assembled, unless they are easy to dissemble. Obviously I would request you do this before you send it to me.
The paint is cured best when it is baked in a spray booth for 80 minutes at 80 degrees, which poses a threat to electronics.

And you would be surprised at how paint sprayed can get into the smallest gap.

If you don't want to dissemble it i will take extra care with spraying and not baked it however because it wasn't baked the lacquer will take a day or two to cure fully before I can begin polishing it.

Edit: Batch host's painted maybe later on down the line if this takes off.

Edit

Im am just going to silvershot's host first, seeing as I am a noob when it comes to things like this I want to get a "feel" for it and start off small/

But if your interested pm me and ill get back to you.

I live in england so I'm not sure yet.

Need to find shipping charges.

I'm struggling at the moment to think of a base price so the shipping charges don't out weigh how much i would ask for the work.

I would be fairly interested depending on the price.

How much would you want to pay being honest, and what you think would be right.

Edit: Scrap that^^

Shipping to england say 15$??

Then maybe 25 to 30 for the work?

I need to sort out a plan first, but if you are seriously interested sort me a pm and i will get back to you all.

Sorry I thought it would be like $10 max.. Then again I don't know what's a fair price to do a job like that.

tell me if this looks right.. i think the surface area of my guidesman is 47.82 sqaure inches. ( sure looks wrong :p ) guidesman head measurements height 1.25 inch, diameter 1.25 inches, radius .625 inches.... after a little math 12.7627132 inches...
body of the host, height 4.58 inches, diameter 1 inches, radius .5 inches. about 2 minutes later, 35.06 inches ( 35.06 + 12.76 = 47.82 inches) formula used; 2 pi r^2+2 pi r h
edit: oops! did something wrong... i think its 37.7 square inches

Well to be honest there isn't a lot of work involved. most of it is waiting for the paint, and the paint is very expensive.

The spray booth is a about 25 pounds to run an hour, but to be honest I can do most of the work outside of it.

But the process will go like this...

I will take your host, depending on the base of it, it will require flatting (prepping) then a metal primer will be applied, allowed to dry then re-prepped to allow best adhesion of the paint.

That will dry, then the base coat of paint (the colour) will be applied.. allowed to dry.

Then the laqcuer will be sprayed on, allowed to dry then any anomalies in the paint (dust, "bits of shit" as we call them in the industry) will be flatted down then the lacquer will be polished up.
