YOU ARE KIDDING RIGHT!!!!! Who ever said it would "dazzle" an astronaut?? From what i remember about when those uni students did that experiment the astronaut who "saw" it claimed he saw an extremely faint green glow for less than a second!! The students also needed 2 x 1 MILLION LUMEN commercial "daylight" light setups, pointed in the sky so the ISS could pinpoint where to look!! Because if they didn't have that beacon they wouldn't have had a snowballs chance in hell of seeing it!!
And this article was from TODAY!! not two years ago, TODAY!!

I love the part where they say "Spider 3 Krypton - currently under review by the Guinness Book of Records as the brightest handheld laser on Earth" made me physically laugh out loud!! I am so sick of this SHIT! Grrr gets my goat!

IMO it is WL that started all this CRAP! I remember when we didn't have laser laws in australia.. Then came along WL.. BAM! We get some of the most harsh laser laws on earth! In my state you can't legally own a laser with an output of more than 1mW!

To be fair, the daily mail is about as reliable a news source as the removed or the poke. In other words, it's exacerbated, truth-stretched and often made up hate mongering bullshit.

Is there a truly reliable news source ? All I see is government filtered propaganda with the information twisted to support their agenda. I don't believe a word of what I read or see on television.

There are varying degrees, but not living in the UK I will forgive the fact that you probably don't know just how much of a joke DM is compared to something even like the BBC. Seriously the DM over here is like the removed. It's designed for and targeted towards brainless yummy mummies who think that immigrants cause global warming and that paedophiles are hiding behind every lamp post. Sensationalist stories like this are just there to fuel the fire.

You are correct. I'm not familiar with the DM. It just amazes me how many people can read something or see something and take it as the truth. "No really I read it in a tabloid at the grocery store". Or I saw it on the news for that matter. There is some news that's accurate. It's just figuring out what is and what isn't.
I'm one of those people that always look for the reason "why".
