XJ A140 red led?

Is the red LED in the A140 a flat looking thing? if so how do you go about powering it? ive heard it is very bright and i want to mess around with it, or if someone wants it shoot me a PM cause others may have a better use

are the thermistors a must to hook up? and if so how do you hook them up? i didn't see anything in the thread about that

how much are they worth? if this phatlight is gone selling together with the diodes, they could get a lower price at the total
$40 x 24 diodes = 960
$38 x 24 diodes + phatlight = 960
dunno if someone would want that led por 38 bucks, just a thought.
