when it comes to red diodes. the LPC-815 is IMO the most stable.
Modwerx sells them in a module + focusing ring. Check it out LPC-815 650nm red laser diode in focusing module - $15.99 : Modwerx Shop
With a meredith lens, 270-290 shouldn't be a problem. - Those lenses are a god send.
Good price too, I'm getting a few more for a few different builds
