They will be your best, cheapest bet. I would say CNI, but they are no longer selling >5mW handhelds, and optotronics is incredibly expensive.

i can sell you a 950mw 445nm laser
I dunno if you can read or not...he wnats a 532, not a 445. Slight difference.
 
You'll probably have a problem getting a transaction through ebay considering it's against their terms of service to sell complete lasers at that power from how I understand it.

That said, I'll second the laserbtb PL532-700

PL532-700 it is, but I wanted to use the pay later ebay option, no cash right now, probably shouldn't even use credit for a toy. Unless one can be sold as a private sale to me there, I'm going to have to wait.

That seems like a good choice. Once you get it do a review, I am anxious to see it.

It seems like the PL 532nm lasers are priced weird per mW. It seems with the 300mW you get the most bang for your buck.

And as regards to the 600mW and the 700mW who wouldn't pay the extra $33 for 100mW difference.

What makes the 100-500mW FDA approved, but the 600mW and 700mW are not?

My guess is that the FDA is not okay with Class IV lasers being sold as handheld systems whereas Class II, IIIa, and IIIb are okay. Just a guess though, I could be wrong.

However is there any difference in visibility between 300mw and 600mw?
I think a 600mw will burn much harder but in terms of beam visibility they shouldn't differ much right?

Actually the opposite of what you just said. 300mW and 600mW if focused right will pretty much burn the same whereas the difference in brightness is very noticeable!
 
There is 100% more power, hence the 50% brighter.
Simple math error, I suppose.
Is there really any proof for this rule of thumb? Or is it just something we just kind of approximate with.
