Would I kill a Flex drive if it was encased in hot glue?
...
The reason I ask thins is that I am working on a pen build, and would like to put a spring on the back of the drive, and solder the other side directly to the diode pins, with hot glue for support.

I would think it would be ok, but I would go with quick set epoxy or a silicone thermal adhesive that can be removed if necessary.

If you are using an Aixiz module you can solder the driver directly to the diode and it will fit inside the back of an aixiz module. You can then feed a wire from the driver to the back of the module and connect that to a pcb board with spring and switch- just secure the board to the back of the module so you don't have pressure on the diode or driver.

I don't think that I would "encase" it in glue. You can use the glue to "attach" it as long as you do not effect the position of the pot.

I planed something similar to how the O-Like module's drivers are attached.
I miss-said what I meant.

Uhm, i see only one weak point in the idea, sorry ..... drivers and modules becomes hot, in the working cycle, and "hot glue" have the bad abitude to melt and detach, if you heat it .....

If you want to fix the module well, and don't plan to detach it frequently, i suggest you to use "5 min epoxy resin", or araldite, or acrylate, or similar 2 components glues ..... much more hard and heat resistants
