It's a really hard choice but I feel the best choice is clear

p.s. both (hypothetical) diodes would be the same price
 





1W. Add correction. Win.

Though if the difference were less say 200mW vs 1W I would take the 200mW diode.
 
Yep. Its an easy vote. And compared to the trouble of stacking multiple 50mw diodes together, adding correction lenses to 1 diode seems elementary.
 
Well, it's a hard choice but it depends
on what kind of guy (no offence Reginak) you are.
For example I prefer power than beam specs... :beer:

really? I would go for beam specs, sure you can correct it but it would still not be the same, burning stuff is only fun for a little while after that I admire lasers for their beam and if the beam is crap than its just boring imo
