Here's a little video of my 520nm... This laser might not be my most powerful laser but man this thing is bright.

The 2 watt 532 from XPL (if it is legit) should be well over twice as bright.

Yes I understand it's not really the brightest laser on the planet earth lol.. Just thought it made a better title then "really really really really really bright laser".. I'm yet to personally see a brighter one.. 1.4Watts of 520 is hard to beat though.

Lol... I knew I was gonna get crap for the title but I did it anyways cause I'm a rebel haha.... That gets me thinking though.. What is the brightest handheld laser?

Likely the two watt 532 from XPL. XPL is that new chinese company sta found, and if this laser is legit like the 500mw 532 they have, it should be the brightest in the world by far. Of course you could use an array of 3 520nm diodes to make a brighter laser.:whistle:

There are 532nm systems that go up to the 100s of watts average power. I've been around a few laserscopes doing 40W average @ 532nm - those are both ridiculously bright and ridiculously dangerous.

those systems using a Nd:YAG as a pump are crazy. I know cni sells that 200 rated one. I wonder if someone here has a 10 watt+ 532 labby or system.

I would love to own a laserscope, but it is not a viable option for me :cryyy:
It is too big and dangerous to have in my house, and haven't go time to modify it for general use.

As for the brightest handheld, it all depends on the lighting conditions of when you use the laser. A 7W 450nm at least theoretically should be brighter than a 2w 532nm at night, but during indoor lighting conditions they will almost be perceived as the same. Is there anyone that can verify this with their own?

1.4w of 520 is definitely gonna be intense as hell but I wonder if 5watts of 465 would be close since 465-470 is pretty much the brightest blue wavelength

In perfect scotopic conditions 1.4W @ 520nm would be 2225.30 lumens whilst 5W @ 465nm is 5270.00 lumens.
For the record 7W @ 445nm is 4677.89 lumens and 2W @ 532nm is 2655.40 lumens. The problem with this model is most of the time whilst using the lasers, we are not in total darkness and our eyes are not in night vision mode.
If i account for low light conditions instead, the values would change to

2.0W @ 532nm = 2501.83
1.4W @ 520nm = 1845.20
5.0W @ 465nm = 3358.41
7.0W @ 445nm = 2920.04

Whoa! So my guess what correct? Lol I do know that my next build is going to be the 07E because 465 looks absolutely astonishing

Yes a 5w 465nm is brighter than a 1.4W 520nm in dark environments. But in room lighting it would be:

1.4W @ 520nm = 1059.69
5.0W @ 465nm = 1233.90

So there isn't much difference between them. 465nm is a wonderful wavelength to own, even non-laser enthusiasts prefer the 465 to 445nm.
