Wondering About Ehgemus And A commision

Ekitz,

You just joined this forum and are already trying to be rude to the members and being sarcastic? At least that's how it comes off to me. A laser is a horrible weapon used for self-defense, and if you did use it could face criminal charges and would need to prove justification of why it needed to be used as protection. I suggest you act a little nicer my friend. This is a very friendly community, but the way you are acting is not how we act here.

I really disagree that a 7 watt after seeing what it can do ''isnt'' good for self defence in a dire situation, and anyways, that's only part of why I was going to buy this.

Using a 7W laser on/againt someone is a good way to get arrested and perhaps go to jail and then to be sued for whatever you have for any damage caused.

Why don't police use them----why don't the military use blinding weapons?
See:http://disarmament.un.org/treaties/t/ccwc_p4/text and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protocol_on_Blinding_Laser_Weapons

Do you know what I sound like right now, like verbally? no.
Im feeling extreme frustration and pain because I made a simple request, and it was all stepped on as if i was just this ''villain'' or something.

The posts i made were serious, im actually holding my head right now, because instead of discussing a commission with someone, im putting off my workout routine to do damage control that's so unnecessary in every possible way.

So, i haven't been ''rude'' or ''sarcastic'' in the slightest despite being cordial despite feeling actual bodily pain from reading some of this, and the offer i made remains the entire point of this. sighs..

this lightsaber is for extreme self defense only, and I really intended to go through with this and all the risks associated. : /

You said you wanted to use a laser as a weapon (even if it's for self defence, it's still a weapon), we told you it wasn't a good idea and that it was unlikely anyone would accept your commission on the grounds that you wanted to use it as a weapon. You disagreed with us, then started posting "facepalm" pictures in response to our guidance, that comes across as rude - as though you are trying to suggest that the people responding to you are stupid or that you don't otherwise value their (rather valuable) opinions/information.

Your attitude in this thread has made it even less likely that someone will want to work with you on this.

Perhaps your first language isn't English and this is all a language barrier/cultural barrier. You should have introduced yourself first and explained your intentions better.

English is my first language and my attitude has been just fine, the warnings already known and dully noted, but the sarcasm and assumptions aplenty were uncalled for. and no i don't mean '' i did those''.

Assumptions? We are not assuming anything. What assumptions are we making?

Well I never directly said 'EVERYONE' but some have assumed the content of my ''attitude'', ''behavior'', ''intent'' etc. really didn't ask for any of that, as I don't make the same judgments about others for kicks or to talk down to them. came here for a lightsaber..

Well, you can't expect to reject everyone's ideas and say you're right no matter what without getting called out. Along with the non-applicable and falsely condescending images. That's on you, not us.

I do not recommend that anyone here build this for him. His purpose is an inappropriate use of a laser. Really wish people would understand these are not toys but they also should not be used as weapons. If you need a weapon get a knife, gun, or pepper spray.

Ekitz, I seriously recommend that you choose a reliable and useful self defense weapon. A laser will stop no one, especially in a close quarters situation. At best the attacker would probably take the laser and bludgeon you with the host.

If you are actually concerned enough about your well being, to the point of needing a self defense weapon, get a gun or pepper spray. A laser is essentially useless in that situation.

..''ideas'' are not talking down to someone saying the same thing over and over, that quickly can become pointless.

I would recommend even more that everyone think for themselves, rather than just listening to someone who is on this thread to try causing unnecessary strife, such as in that quote.

I came here for a lightsaber tool, which i have the money to pay someone with for it, not for someone who is at this point trying projecting as if they ''know'' me.

And we all come here to enjoy lasers and laser discussions. We don't want any laser accidents to happen and create laws or restrictions on our hobby. We are tired of people coming here with inappropriate uses for lasers and in general refusing to listen to our advice. You came here asking for someone to create you a laser that will be wrongfully used. No one here will do that for you.

Well actually no that's entirely wrong, except the part where we all enjoy lasers. some immediately took what i said and tried twisting it around, even though that failed.

1. (True) we all come here to enjoy lasers and laser discussions.

2. (True, I'm sure many members would agree with me here.) "We don't want any laser accidents to happen and create laws or restrictions on our hobby."

3. (True, Although I shouldn't speak for all of us.) "We are tired of people coming here with inappropriate uses for lasers and in general refusing to listen to our advice."

4. ( Definitely true as what you are asking for is considered dangerous to another human being and yourself) "You came here asking for someone to create you a laser that will be wrongfully used."

5. (Exceptionally true) "No one here will do that for you."

From what I see, you are just trying to troll now. Either that or you're trying to prove that we, in some way, encourage the irresponsible use of lasers. There is no point in continuing to ask for your host here. You have proven yourself as a irresponsible person.

As with all trolls I feel that we should ignore your further requests and attempts to egg us on. You have gotten your answer from me, and many many others.

No.

A. Hand held lasers are not powerful enough to be a real weapon, they are powerful enough that courts will make an example of this new and unique to them type of assault, especially considering the attention laser/aircraft and laser/car incidents are getting. You might be able to count on blinding someone permanently. Do that and your case will likely make national news. Good luck convincing a court your weapon use was justified.

B. If I was weaponizing a laser device I wouldn't say a single word about it. Just like I wouldn't talk about building an illegal firearm and for the exact same reasons.

C. I have seen 40 watt CO2 lasers powered by a backpack. Even those have no more "power" than a weak BB gun and all of opinion A applies. The difference is if you get hauled into court for using such a device there is a good chance that the ATF is going to want their peace of the "lasers are guns" idea and you will watch all sorts of interesting new laws be passed. Including in other countries because "if the Americans say it is a dangerous gun/weapon with their lax laws then we should..."

You might also be interested in several facts about me and why my opinion should be considered.
A. I spent 9 years in the US Army, 2 of them deployed, yes combat, yes I killed, yes friends died, I was in fact wounded.
B. I own and operate an 06FFL business and manufacture Ammunition, I am also a gunsmith and build firearms.
C. I carry pepper spray, a pocket knife and at least one firearm every time I leave the house.

I would rather go to court for killing a mugger with a handgun than face the same court after I permanently blinded the same mugger with a high power laser.

Dead men can't testify...

Yea not good for self defense. It is ineffective, you will most assuredly go to jail even if claiming self defense and then your attacker will sue you for everything you have and will ever have. If you feel that strongly about personal safety get a concealed carry permit if your state/county allows it.
