Will this red work in projector?






I think the laser should be ok, I think that 635nm is better for RGB than 650nm though.
 
honestly a 635 is a better choice for a RGB projector its a brighter more visible red and you dont need as power to get it to match with 532 green.

but one downside is a 400mw 635 cost a little more than a 800mw 650 :(


but i do think i will choose to go with the 635 with my projector
 
Hmm, how much would a 100mW 635nm analogue cost? I'm thinking of sticking one of those to replace the 100mW 650nm in my RGY. I wouldn't need any more than 100mW 635nm to balance 150mW of 405nm.
 
i can sell you a laser wave 100mw 635nm for 450.... possibly a little cheaper i would have to double check with bridge

but i could get you a 300mw 650nm for 255

Correct.

I think someone posted a topic over in the multimedia forum comparing 635 and 650nm. The 635 was a lot brighter.
 
But there comes a time when even though 635 is brighter, 650 is just so much cheaper that it becomes more economical.

How much 650 do you need to match 635?
 
im willing to bet money you dont get 500mw out of it but it should work fine
 
Murudai, since i'm a Aussie laser-wave dealer I could see what I could do you on a 635nm :)
 
I could do a 100mw 635nm for about $436 + shipping, or 650nm @ 250mw for about $280 + shipping.

Both come with a PSU, and a TTL/Analog driver control board.
 
Is that AUD or USD?

Overall, I'm just looking at the brightest red possible. So which is brighter, 100mW of 635 or 250mW of 650? What about beam specs, what's the beam specs of the two units?
 
a 650nm laser with a very tight beam will look just as bright as a 635nm laser with a fat beam.

a tight beam is much easier to work with than a fat beam.

          Excellent point Andy. Divergence is very important when talking about preceived brightness to the human eye. Total power isn't everything.

             
 
Yeah, that's why I'm asking about the beam specs. I know some diode labbies are high powered but the beam specs are so bad that it isn't very useful.

That's one nice thing about DPSS 671nm red, they have awesome beam specs. Though, they are really dull...
