Hello,
I come from Cedar Rapids Iowa.
I have been lurking on these forums for years and have found these forums to be a wealth of knowledge. From reading the posts here and other members experiences I have learned a lot about lasers and have made good laser purchases.

It all started in 2008 I made my first purchase of a REAL laser pointer from of all the places... Yes, WickedLasers.com :yabbem: My first laser was the original 5mw Wicked Lasers core series green laser pointer. I've used it so much over the years that it no longer has a spec of black paint on the body it's all brass but the laser still works great.

Today I own many lasers and LED'd a few lasers (mostly violet) :(
Lasers I own,
5mw Wicked Lasers Core 532nm green laser pointer"125mw" Tech Lasers Infinity 532nm green laser pointer (butchered)1W Dragon lasers Spartan 447nm blue laser300mW LAZERER.com LZCB CYBER 638nm red laser
400mw LAZERER.com LZCR 532nm green laser
3 pack of nice ebay "5mw" overpowered laser pointer 650nm, 532nm, 405nm

Soon I will have a new custom 700mw 405nm violet laser coming back from repairs to me from Thejoker301 :)

My favorite wavelength has been 405nm :) It's quite beautiful, I love the black light effects.

Looks nice on quartz crystal as well.

I have never built a laser of my own yet. One day if I had the proper tools I'll give it a whirl.

I have been amazed time after time when I occasional stroll thru the forums and see the amazing talent that goes into some of the builds I have seen on this forum.

Outside of lasers I am a light / heavy gamer. The only thing I like more than playing a game however is developing one and creating new content for existing ones and that's what I do. Not as a job but as a hobby. I administer a few game servers. I love programming and enjoy working with graphics I also compose some music in FL Studio and run a few websites and lately been enjoying kicking forum spammer in the teeth on my forum with some custom .php crap.

Aside from all of that this is a great community :) And I'm glad to finally be able to participate here with an introduction for starters. As always I'll be reading thanks for having me.

I'll leave you with a group photo of my working laser collection

Welcome back to the forums! :)

I must say I really like the picture you took of the violet laser being shone at the crystal, very imaginative.

Thanks for the welcome :)
I took a whole bunch of pictures of my quartz crystal and my violet laser. I have so many photos to share but I wanted to keep my first post short and sweet and had to resist all urges to flood it with images lol. perhaps later I can make another thread and flood it with photos :)

Welcome to the forums wildcard. I see however that you make no mention of safety gear! Remember, you only have one set of eyeballs so like ***, it is all good to make sure it is under wraps! lol

Welcome to the forum, your introduction thread was very well typed.

I like the photo of your lasers, there looks to be some very well loved ones in there. I can completely understand how your WL Core came to be like that, I own a yellow pointer that has been used so well (albeit by previous owners, not me) that all the paint fell off and it too is now just a brass shell.

The image has actually been quite helpful for me as I always wondered what the scale of the Spartan was in real terms. It's a little bigger than I thought it'd be.

Don't worry I have some laser glasses that cover all my wavelengths except for my 638nm LAZERER.com red laser, The laser shades I ordered from LAZERER.com for the 638nm laser were a joke :yabbmad: it was absolutely worthless just lightly tinted plastic and my laser went right thru that like clear glass :yabbmad: Perhaps I got the wrong kind looking back now but would being off a few nm of "red" really pierce thru the glasses?
Beginner Safety Goggles for 650nm Red Laser Anyhow, Yes safety is extremely important to me. Simply put, nobody touches my lasers but me. I've also read the horror stories here on what happens when a blind eye is turned to safety. scary stuff. I haven't shot my eyes out yet or stared into the beam with remaining eye lol.

Thanks for the welcome! Wow, you own a yellow laser pointer? Nice! I've always wanted to get a laser of the wavelength but it's been super expensive. The Spartan is a wonderful laser. it's been thru hell over the years and I'm convinced the thing is indestructible :gun: The size feels just about right :) fits nicely into the pocket and what's cool is the one I have as a thread where a metal dust cap is screwed in. Very nice, until you lose it :(

Indeed, these older style yellow/orange pointers can be amazingly fickle but when they work they're a sight to behold! If you look in the right place you can pick one up for the price you'd pay for a high power blue, just don't expect to be light painting the moon with it.

I have an older CNI Yello. 2.5 mW hitting ~4 mW if condition are just right.
Mine is more gold in color but I love the color!!
