Sorry but that was a lot of words for something so simple.

I think the issues touched upon in this thread are anything but simple. Hypothetical scenarios make them even more complicated.

To paraphrase a quote I know you like "Complexity is in the eye of the beholder."

That's the fascinating thing about hypothetical situations, they are usually far-fetched. Let me give an example of a hypothetical that can come off as offensive.

Example: Something is on the news about a guy beating his wife.
My gf: If you ever hit me I would blah blah blah....
Me: I wouldn't hit you...wtf would you even say that for?
My gf: I was being hypothetical.

^See I took offense to this. She didn't mean offense, but I took it anyways.

I'm curious as to how I stopped people from being informed, and also how I mislead people. I guess I could have done more, but looking at the other sales threads in here, I definitely provided more info and jumped through more hoops than any other listing I've seen.

Also, this is another thing I have noticed that hasn't come up yet. Why is it so strange that I priced my laser above what I actually knew I was going to get? This is a classified section/online swap meet, who actually offers the exact price listed?? How many people have tried to sell something and someone offered you around 1/2 your listing price? In my head it wasnt price gouging, but making sure that I didnt get complete low ballers, and more serious buyers. If anyone PM'd me I would have been more than happy to discuss prices in private, as I did with CrabApple.

Ex: When you go to a car dealership and look at the sticker on the window, is that the price you would offer? No, and the company knows this so they mark it a little higher in order to get the price they want. I'm a sales guy, and this has been my experience all over the country, maybe it's different where some of you live.

But the main thing is that the laser sold, and CrabApple knows my situation and I rest assured he will enjoy this arctic. It now has a story behind it, and I am very happy that I listed it here, and not because of the money, but this thread has been like a very interested sociological experiment.

Just to lighten the dreary mood around here I wanted to post some absolutely horrible beam shots I just took. This was taken from my phone camera, which is a POS. What's the best way to take beam shots and them turn out half decent?

Overall I actually loved this laser. I know there are more powerful ones, and cheaper ones, and ones you dont have to wait EONS for. But I do think it's the best looking laser out there, and it really does look great in the sky. I'm gonna miss my first 445nm laser, but I'm glad it's going to another enthusiast instead of a punk ass teenager off ebay...

I look very forward to adding this Arctic to my collection and as I stated in an earlier PM, if and when you want this back just give me a shout and we will make it happen.
Take care and God Bless!!!
Steve

If ms Krabapple gets the laser in the described condition, then this is not a scam.
Any price both buyer and seller agree upon is a fair price.
Of course one would be advised to be fluent in the art of negotiaition.:D

Have been in contact with seller and just wanted to post that he is a very stand up guy and I have all the confidence in the world that this was a good transaction for the both of us.

*facepalm* There really wasnt any question of that. The problem was $350 for a used laser. Whats funny is that you got fleeced and are bragging how happy you are about it. But I guess the world if full of fish. For me I like lube before I get f*cked. But thats just me.

Before you assume that I gave the $350.00 for the laser maybe you need to get the facts but wait a minute the facts are none of your DAMN business now are they. I'm bragging because I got a good deal on a laser that I wanted and furthermore I helped someone out that needed a helping hand.

Just as well could have been you!!! Now go get your lube and use it and stay out of any business that doesn't concern you. THANK YOU!!!!

^^^Someone's been playing on their Jump To Conclusions mat again.

It wasn't sold for $350, and even if it was, believe it or not, some people are willing to pay extra for something if it helps for a good cause.

It's not my place to disclose the final sale price, but if it is what was PMed to me, it is quite fair.

@YnotBeHappy
@crabapple

Can you guys post the final sale price, to at least put down this issue right now, and put the trolls to beb;)

EDIT: crabapple - You beat me to it! Love that second to last sentence:D

Who are you, his butt buddy? Why not get a room, and you guys can play laser tag together. :crackup:

The original price was $350, which was what I was talking about. And I was commenting in this thread waaaay before you chimed in crab, so it is my business. I work hard, along with others, to keep people from getting ripped off here. If it was a scam, and you didnt buy it, you'd be thanking me right now. And thats a fact. :beer:

I don't mind telling what I paid for it but would like for YnotBeHappy to be ok with it. When he responds he can post the dollar amount.

The thing about this is it wouldn't have mattered if I had paid $350.00 or $3500.00 for the laser for someone to come on the forum and post what Tech_Junkie posted is uncalled for. I have helped a fellow man out and that's all that matters to me and if he wants the laser back when things are better then so be it. I'm very fortunate to have the kind of job that allows me to have the things I want in life and most important, helping people.

No this is where you are wrong......Like I said before, if it's a scam and I lose the money so be it. I would not come on here crying to you or anyone else about it. If losing this amount of money is my biggest lose in life then it's a sad life and YOU BETTER BELIEVE ME, MY LIFE IS FAR FROM SAD!!!
