Why can't I use the o-like CC TTL driver with a bluray?






because if you put in more then 5v, it won't last long....the driver of course
 
oh ok. I see. Does anyone know how much voltage the regulator draws? Could I get away with using 5v source with this driver on a bluray if I could get enough current? it just wouldn't last very long at all right?
 
yknow what its all on the o-like page, idk how I missed that. I couldn't run a bluray on 2.5v right?

provided on your 1st post..:thinking:

The specs clearly state that the rated input voltage is 5Volts...
and the 2nd question about Blu-Ray LD usage reply by the seller
states.....

Sorry, it can not power blu-ray diode. We have special driver for
blu-ray diode at 5V (output) which cost $8.00.

If a seller says not to put diesel fuel in your gas powered car..
why would you ask if you can use diesel fuel in it...:undecided:

I saw the questions and answers at the bottom, what I missed was the 2.5v in the details, I was looking at the ma and saw 80-500 and said.. sweet. bought them. and now that I've already bought them, and have a PHR on the way too.

Yes, I'm asking if the diesel fuel will work in this gas powered car? I just want to clarify, I cannot use 2.5v to power a PHR?

Yeah... but all is not lost... you can use the Driver to
power a Red or IR LD....

They come shipped two pieces at a time, I bet if you run 2 of them in series, they would be able to power a phr.
 
Okay I know what I'll do, I'm just gonna swap out the rkcstr driver in one of my other lasers with one of these, now I just have to find some new batterys for 5v.

That may work if the input and output grounds are not common..
or if they are...you can use 2 separate battery supplies ) one for
each input..:cool:

Since the PHR can operate at 5VDC out, try 6 VDC (four 1.5 VDC AA's) in and it should drive it.

The 358 comparator is fairly efficient, if the voltage is only slightly above the required output.

It should handle 6 VDC on the caps.

and bryce, the drivers output is 2.5v (yeah not enough) but I really really (really) liked the link you gave me!

I don't have this exact module, but I do have a similar #LM358 driver ...
and it worked fine driving a PHR @ 5 VDC from 6VDC.
