Hey guys I didn't find anything about this on the forum. I need a soldering iron for my laser builds. How many watts do you guys recommend it should be? Or even better what do you guys use?

:thanks:

Get a temperature-regulated iron. I can't stress this enough. Don't get just anything with a dial either. Some are variable-power, not variable-temp. Whatever you do, stay FAR away from the $10 30W pencil type. If it is <$40, it's probably a piece of junk.

Over two years ago I searched for the same information here on the forum and found a HUGE amount of suggestions and information.
You obviously DID NOT search that hard. The youth of today really need to learn how to read instead of just asking someone else to do their research.

The forum search tool at the top of the page is pretty much useless. Try the google search bar at the bottom of the page.

Yep. It took me a few days to figure out that the search at the bottom is the way to go.

I agree that the search should be at the top. It seems more intuitive.

I only see one search area within the forum, at the bottom of the page before all the advertising.

I'm told that when the google search bar is at the top of the page ( where it logically should be ) it causes problems with the page loading properly. So, we are stuck constantly reminding new members where to find it.
