Where to buy tritium keychain/smallvials online shipped from US?






United Nuclear had some, but they're sold out. It dosen't even make sense why they would send stuff like that from china. Wouldn't it be better for someone to sell it in the US? They sell gunsights with it in it.
 
Just wanna add my concern about importing them is true. You can't import them since keychains have no "legitimate use of tritium." Yet some guy on Candle power forums was selling like a 100 vials 3 years ago. I wish this crap wasn't radioactive. I'm sure as hell not buying from China. If I end up on a list and ever buy a laser.......it might disappear too.
 
What is the problem with getting them from china?

I think the number of US based sellers will be very limited since tritium is a material that is difficult to legally ship -out of- the US. Shipping it into the us would probably be a lot easier since the goal of such legislation is only to prevent US technology falling into enemy hands.
 
I have a small 2x8mm vial here if you are interested. You can put it in anything you like with a little glue :)
 
I think someone on CPF sells tritium within the US.

There are no LEGAL US-made tritium keyrings.

Asinine as it is, tritium glow vials are relegated to "Non Trivial Use" by the US department of energy.

The allowable uses are:

Gunsights
Compass needle and watch markers
Emergency glow EXIT signs etc.

Keychains and "find your camping gear in the dark" tabs are not allowed.

There is however a huge grey market in them, and I don't think the US .gov cares too much knowing how minor the actual radioactivity risk is. Some natural stone used in building construction is a much more powerful emitter than the beta electrons from the tritium infused paste in a glow vial.

So there are US gray-market re-sellers for tritium keychains/markers, but they all came from China or Europe anyway.
 
B@rt sells individual vials, if you don't need the keychain bits.

Green is brightest.

Tritium is used to increase the energy yield in fission bombs.
