Where is Stephen Hawking?

Professor Hawking was an extraordinary person who continued to amaze the world with his incredible mind and refusal to surrender to a hideous disease. It’s a shame that he was never awarded a Nobel prize, but his many contributions to human knowledge will be remembered forever. Thanks Stephen, and rest well.

Sad to hear about his death, a great loss, but despite his illness lived to a pretty respectable age which still amazes me.

As for where he is: not in heaven, if we have to take his own word for it. I'm sure it would be his biggest surprise if there proved to be some sort of an afterlife.
