Where are my flash light guys at?

TCs make poor antennae so far field is heavily dampened. Besides it primarily radiates at 185kHz. My little 500-800kHz 600W one knocks out that portion of the AM band for about three miles if I feed it to a long wire antenna, but only 1km normally.

It doesn't even crack the squelch on my 146MHz gear unless I get a ground strike arc, so I wouldn't expect it to show up in any HF bands. If it did the FCC would be up my ass, haha.

Speedy is going to catch the flashlight bug now that he has my 7G5CS :D Welcome to the club buddy!!!! Now go lock your wallet away if you know whats good for you!

Darn you got one of those cursed wallets too? Right after you bought my light I purchased two lights im going to do reviews on........what is this curse? Sell one buy two  never heard of that sale in the stores!!!! Dont worry i stashed money away for the MT-G2 :D :D :D :D 1860 lumen here we come!

NOOOOOOO!!!!!

DO NOT get the 7G10. It's a letdown. Grab the niwalker or the solarforce mtg2 lights.

Ahh, ok, good. The 7G10 was just a major disappointment to me. I was really excited about it, but came away just very disappointed.

With the 7G5MT I'm going to hold off until it's reviewed by someone thoroughly. I know selfbuilt has one on the way, or probably already in hand, so it's only a matter of time.

The thing that concerns me most with that light is heat dissipation.

From a practical standpoint, it's just a not so bright flooder. With the standard reflector, I can't see it beating the BS Terminator in any category for example. (Price, output, throw, quality, run time, etc,.) A $30-40 SRK would also probably kill it in every respect.

The only way I think it has good potential is with the aspheric head, but of course they made it incompatible with older version... for those of us with 3-4 heads already... it feels kind of like an FU from crelant.

Barring a glowing review, I'm not going to get it. Personally I'd go for either the solarforce, or the niwalker versions. SF also put out cheaper heads at ~$1500 lumens which you should look at if you're looking at the 7G5MT.

Well then, my aspheric head is useless at this point since Troy has my old 7G5CS. Hmmmm i remember hearing speculation that the head wouldnt fit but didnt see someone confirmed this. Got the links for the SF or Niwalker? The BS Terminator is the four eyed monster right? That thing doesnt appeal to me at all. I had a Kung but sold it to someone here since i needed cash to move. I wish TP made his freakin SRK driver already so we could use the darn thing!

Sorry no links, check solarforce sales, and honestly not sure what the website is for niwalker sales. I think maybe edcplus.

It's been confirmed, the old aspheric head won't fit.

There is no comparing the Kung to the BS Terminator btw. Whole other class of flashlight.

Agreed on TP getting those drivers done... lots of lights they can go into :D

It looks like the SF light is just a new head for the L2 series body? Does that sound right? Its called the K3 and does 1500 lumen

There is also this

Cant find prices yet so now need to search for those

EDIT: K3 = $58 + shipping for the head, S2200 is $136 + shipping

The Niwalker is the BK-FA02 and the review by selfbuilt is very impressive but still cant find one for sale anywhere and the $180 price tag is

Also pretty hefty

Search for somewhere that sells the continues :D

Yeah, I'm really not sure where to grab the Niwalker.

About the SF's that is exactly right. It's just a head. Short of a large reflector, the MTG2 will not throw well at all. So might as well go for more flood.

The S2200 looks like it throws very well actually from a post i saw on BLF. Cant see spending $136 on a light that is tested very little though and the Niwalker.....found it one place but its in EU so dont want to deal with that. At least SF you can buy direct from them.

EDIT: $79 shipped from SF for the K3 with L2 body and 2x 18650 extensions. Running this light on 3x 18650 might have some nice run times :D

It depends on how you define good throw.

To me good throw is over 100kcd, or near there.

None of the MTG2 production lights are getting there, even with huge reflectors, because of the size of the LED.

Now granted, 5 years ago, anything over 60kcd would have been considered a super thrower, we've come a long long way, and 50-60kcd is just no longer enough.

Only way I can see the MTG2 lights working well in terms of throw is if the LED is dedomed.

Btw, the 7G5MT is not much cheaper than $136.

Hmmmmm, so I might be buying another 7G5CS then. Any idea what the kcd is on the 7G5CS? I mean i really loved that light and had high hopes for the MG-T2 but if it doesnt throw better than the U2/U3 than no point in spending the extra money.

Basically dont want to have my aspheric go to waste and want a light that can throw well. I know i can buy the ZY-T13 but i doubt it throws better than the Crelant
