Where are my flash light guys at?

Those I4s are nice and pretty cheap. Looks like everything can be done under 100 with that light the I4 and batteries.
 





Which light did you settle on?

Charger figure ~$15, batteries $22-40 depending on brand, so a little over a hundred depending on the light.
 
Still undecided on the light really. I like that EagleTac TX25C2. Would have too see what kind of discount we could get ordering in bulk. The clip and output kinda has me sold though.
 
I would also seriously consider the Zebralight SC600II if I were you.

Lately I tend to carry it more than any other light. Similar kind of output, just a whole lot more flood instead of throw, which is a plus for the majority of situations. For example to check on something up close.

3rd from the right, the biggest gray one.

Over the weekend I want to take a shot of all the lights I have together. If I were to turn them on all together, would probably hit over 25000 lumens :tinfoil:

The 2nd on the right, is the SC52 I mentioned first. It's really one of the top lights of all time imo.

See the problem is, it's kind of difficult to do that.

I mean I'd probably need some kind of a permit, otherwise I feel cops would show up pretty fast to find out why there are searchlights in the sky. I'd also freak out my neighbors... I live in an apartment in an apartment complex.

Here are the non budget pocket flashlights I just pulled out from the drawers surrounding me. If I went through the house, I'd find at least another 10+ cheap flashlights. Also have two flashlights that are nice, but one is in the car, and one is in the office.

I want to play with them all! There is a reason im not over at BLF. I cant afford them all!
 
IE- whats that crelant on the left? Do I spy a 7G5MT or are my eyes that tired?
 
See there's one of the reasons I moved from NJ to the country of MI; my yard light is 24,000lm. My garage light is 17,000lm. With both my work light and overhead light on in my office it is ~30,000lm. I can pump out 2500W of RF interference without upsetting anyone, or blast music as loud as I want. Got my own well for water supply, and burn my own garbage.

The price? No jobs to be had outside of Walmart, tech is at least 5 years behind, if Walmart doesn't have it; you can't get it locally, mail takes an extra two weeks to arrive, and gas is $0.75 more per gallon.

It's an addictive, addictive hobby. I spent way more on flashlights this year than lasers, or any other optional expense.

You get a great one, and then you start looking for the perfect one. Except as you're looking for that bit of perfection, your perception about what is perfect keeps changing. All of a sudden every light, no matter how nice, you get it, and you immediately start thinking "ok this is good, but here's what I would like in terms of improvements". So you keep trying new lights, meanwhile new LEDs, new hosts, and new models come out. You also start to get snobbish about tint, and anything below 200 lumens... what are you kidding... and so it goes you become a certified flashaholic :tinfoil: :p

Hurricane sandy really kicked it into high gear for me... seeing people get by with crappy ancient flashlights, literally not being able to stay up past it getting dark outside... no good. Now I'd probably be well lit up for at least 2-3 weeks in case of a power outage. Just need to figure out something with regards to food, and keeping warm.

Oh, and another side effect, is you kind of start wishing for short power outage. Nothing prolonged. Just a few hours please :eg:

Crelant 7G6CS. I'm not going to get a 7G5MT until I see a review from Selfbuilt, TurboBB or one of those other guys. The 7G10 was a big letdown. I actually ended up just sending it back, and biting the bullet on both original and return shipping (about ~$25 since it's a big package shipping twice).

I don't remember for sure, but I think you also mentioned being married right?

That's exactly the problem I have as well. In a lot of ways I would prefer to move out to the middle of nowhere, to be able to do exactly as you describe... to blast music as loud as I want to, to shine lights, to do whatever.

With that unfortunately the biggest question is what to do for work. If I could address the work part of the equation, the other part of it, is while I don't particularly desire to get married right now, I feel that if I move to the middle of nowhere I'd end up meeting a lot fewer people and my chances of meeting someone I would ever consider getting married with would be further reduced.

The mail thing would bug me quite a bit too.

What are you pumping 2500W from!? Id like to see these outside lights of yours.
 
@I.E. Yep, married for seven years now. I totally understand both issues. I was already married when I moved up here. Income acquisition has been a nightmare, and it still is one hell of one. To be free but poor or restrained and want not; still not sure what is better.

@Speedy If I run my big SSTC off of mains directly it pulls ~3000W @ .82PF = 2500W.

I'll have to see if my camera will take photos in the dark well enough to get shots of my outdoor HIDs.
