whats going on !! ):

No problem bro. Thanks for the rep.

I would be willing to build a custom 405nm laser for you that could output around 500mW or more if you are interested. PM me and I can work out some numbers if you are interested.

To second what Apex said...405nm is THE WAY TO GO! My labbie build at ~100mW burns my skin when focused, and I'm scared to put my 550mW 405nm laser on my skin....one time a guy did put his hand in front of it being stupid and I SWEAR TO YOU his skin popped and smoke came off his hand....he stayed away from it after that.

But ya...405nm lasers. Higher photon energy due to the increased frequency and shorter wavelength.

Put on a pair of goggles, and focus the dot to the smallest you possibly can... 200mW really isn't all that much for burning.

Also try using a black match head, or coloring the head with a black marker.

darken the match w/ a sharpie and put both in something that keeps them steady. You may need a magnifying glass.

If you question is also 'whats going on with this overspec laser?'
My answer is: they are ALL supposed to come overspec- its done so that even after a lot of use and time it SHOULD always be spec or more- all the good companies sell overspec- the OK ones sell spec and the crapholes sell underspec in hopes you will never meter it

or MAYBE you just got lucky this time- most are all made the same and they bin them , selling according to how they turn out.

WE need to hear from many buyers before we can be sure...
TY for posting---hak

@wannaburnstuff
Thanks for the more technical information on exactly why 405nm is superior for burning.

I have never been brave enough to see what my S06J running at 445mA and extreme focused through a G1 would do to my skin... Maybe I should convince my buddy to see what it does LOL

i JUST WANT TO CRY SO BAD !!!!!!!! i later found out that my laser outputs 30mw ...): what a shame !!!!!!!!! i was doing this http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/simple-laser-power-meter-using-ir-thermometer-26341.html but i wasnt using a aluminum piece ...i was just focusing it to the IR directly , thats why i was getting such high readings ...maybe im doing something wrong,.. but i later saw some 100mw green lasers on youtube cutting electrical tape like butter and theres were i notice that my laser was underspected ):

PLEASE ANY HELP ON HOW CAN I POT MODE IT ?!!! OR MAKE IT STRONGER !! ^_^ THANKS !!!

Its called anger management bro.

BTW, I have been messing with burns with a few of my lasers the last couple days and I find my Osram PLTB450 with a standard 3-element burns like crazy. I believe it is due to the fact that it has a better divergence than the M140s and I am very happy with its performance. Its superior burning abilities mainly show at longer ranges where the M140s start to lose their tight focus the Osram holds it further. Just wanted to let you know in case you were thinking about a higher powered and more visible option than the 405nm lasers.

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY ! I WILL definitely check it out ! ^_^ :D
1W+ its crazy as hell ! one quick question ....will a 405nm 1W laser diode burn as much as the one that you have in the link ? THANKS !!!:D:)

AFAIK there is only one guy who has ever built a 1W 405, and at that current you are just asking for an extremely low diode life. With a G1 lens you can get ~700mW easy though
