@EliteFunk

hahaha kinda had a feeling, i guess ill have to keep an eye out for some cheap matte black anodized aluminium, probably find something at the local bike shop that will work.... or what about powder coated steel?

Powder Coated Steel would work nicely, i put some in a laser cutter to engrave the coating off. It looks a lot more professional than engraving wood and plastics.

With only reading the thread title, I'm going to answer this.

Because it isn't 2W.

I think you misread the title. He's asking what won't a 2W 445nm laser burn? Meaning it will burn many things, but what are it's limits!

Well, I think it says, "What won't a 2W 445 wont burn?"

So I think he's asking what won't it not burn. So is he asking what WILL it burn?

A few bricks work good for my beam stop.

Bart Simpson on being placed in the 'gifted' class.

" Well all I know is. heh heh-- Imma makin' straight 'A's... and that ain't not bad"

" not cause any unwanted damage....."

as opposed to the wanted damage? lol j/k

SLY not too late to edit/go advance and change title to....

'Suggestions for my beam stop':beer:
