What should I get for my first laser?

eBay is giving him shipping trouble. I found him a link that ships to Canada but he said they notified him that was false advertisement.
I think his best bet is sci fi. $50 and until they get stock , he can really learn about lasers

Yea, I think waiting for sci-fi would be best aswell.

In the mean time , he can research safety . Nm , mw. , lenses , all the need to know info for your on the go laser hobbyist :). I know I got lucky on my first few purchases as I did only the research on the laser I wanted and not about lasers in general . This will give him time to make an educated purchase, instead of an impulse buy.

I'm definitely interested in the sci-fi lasers one, but I just got another message back from the Ebay seller saying that in the end he WILL be able to ship it to me. Pressing commit to buy made some kind of contract that means the order has to go through. That one will be coming in the mail soon. If I like it, I'll step up to the Sci-fi lasers one.

I have to say this has been the most confusing order process ever... Hopefully it gets easier the further this hobby takes me.

Wowowowow.....

:wtf:Ebay lasers have nothing to do with Sci-Fi lasers, if anything the quality is alot different along with the prices...

They aren't comparable..

Good for starters. Under 20$ that way he will get used to it before moving up.

I'm really excited haha. I'll update this thread when it comes in the mail!

Glad you found one. I just ordered a 2.1W 445 from SciFi and it's my first powerful and potentially dangerous laser. But one of the first post I read when I joined the site said if you will treat these just like a firearm, you should have no problems. I ordered goggles right after my laser and Ive had my face dug into the site to take in as much information as possible. I must say, it's the experience waiting on this thing just like anything else I order and anxiously await arrival! I went with a powerful laser for my first one, but it's kind of like buying a gun, sometimes you skip the Beebee guns and get the real deal if you feel properly prepared and know the potential threats of misuse. I know there are loads of people here to help me in my laser journey if I run into trouble!! So stoked its crazy!!

Thanks guys!!

Haha space__ you remind me of myself :) after you receive that one, you will become an addict. First you will either want more power, then different Wavelengths. I still get giddy when I have something on the way! Before you know it, you'll have a great collection :D

Let us all know! Tmack just recommended me this very laser as well, and it's been shipped! If you get it first let us know how it is!

I really want to find the same laser in red as well.

Where are you located bounce? It should get to you soon if you're in the states. You'll be pleased how nice this little guy is. Check out my album I might have a picture of it shining in a foggy field.

I'm actually in vancouver! I should update my location yeah? Haha!
The original seller didn't ship to Canada, but I shipped it to a part of the states that's actually only accessable from inside Canada. So it actually has to go through customs three times before I can really get it. From the states over to canada, back to US soil, then back to canada with me. It's actually inside British Columbia, but it's part of Washington. So it might take some time.

:( Sounds like it will indeed take awhile! Haha, but best of luck, hope it gets to you :)
