Ooh, that's new... I'm not very impressed though, especially for the price. You could pick up a brighter and much cooler new/used D10 for the same price with some searching. That said, county comm products always look awesome.

Yes you are right. It's expensive and I had to think about it for awhile.

With shipping and tax I paid an additional $11.93!

Hah. I'm changing the bulb out to a 35W one, both to increase runtime and to make it a more usable light for everyday use.

It lasts eight to nine minutes for most people, the two minutes is the 'cooldown' period with the stock 100W lamp installed, after ~3 minutes on. Arayan reported that his went from 8-9 minutes on a charge with the 100W lamp to 18-19 minutes with the 35W lamp.

I'm a NiteCore fan. I have not had any problems with mine that would lead me to believe they suck, but to each his own.

I have the D11, it's a single AA host with a Cree XP-G R5 emitter @ 145 lumens w/SOS and strobe mode as well as digital ramping of brightness. Multi voltage driver allows for a 3.7 volt 14500 cell to be used for better performance. Very unique UI with memory of last brightness setting.

And a EX11 in a single 123a host, same features as the D11 except 200 lumens max and a lot smaller. You can also use the 16340 cell.

Both are compact with a good combo of flood and throw. I would have to say the EX11 is my fav with the titanium clip, makes it perfect for EDC.

I'm seriously thinking about killing my D11 and having one LPF's builders bring it back to life as a 445...
Can it be done?

The main reason the D11/EX11 sucks IMO is because of the MASSIVE parasitic drain with lower voltage batteries. An alkaline AA might be dead within a week of just sitting there. It also has that retarded strobe mode... no force high/low. I like my D10 R4 a lot better (I just wish it threw more).

@TTerbo
Who would trade a $50+ nitecore for a $13 DX light? LOL.
