What is the wavelength of true brown?

Yeah, monitors are a problem. Do you see 445nm from the converter with the slight tint of violet it has IRL? (note that this is mostly visible on the older diodes, that had lower WL)

There is definitely a slight purple tinge to it. Ideally, the HEX code would show us a dark blue square with speckles of violet, but I don't think that is how HEX code works. then again, I am no coder lol.

That hex code (#0019FF) looks pure blue here, not violet at all. Monitors suck :/

For crying out loud guys. You may or may not like it, but the other threads *are* legitimate questions and have raised many interesting discussions. And they might even result in a better WL to RGB converter.

Every single one of these stupid polls could just be combined into one large discussion thread. That is the reason for the annoyance.

There can be discussion without being 10 different poll threads about every single color. It's not that it isn't a worthwhile discussion.

Thanks for the encouragement, but I've decided to stop doing these polls. It's just not worth the aggravation.

On the other hand, the Wikipedia article on azure (sky blue) says, "Its dominant wavelength is about 488 nm." That doesn't look right. Aren't 473nm lasers pretty close to sky blue? My 490 looks cyan, not azure.

Azure is an important tertiary color, exactly halfway between blue and cyan. So is chartreuse (halfway between yellow and green), spring green (halfway between cyan and green), and indigo (halfway between blue and violet).

Then there's orange-red (halfway between orange and red). Of course orange is a tertiary color, which makes orange-red a quaternary color. In which case we may as well do all the other quaternary colors, just to round things out.

I don't know about quinary colors. (Have to give that some thought.) Then there are the [three-letter word for reproduction]-tary colors...
