You can never have enough bawls

When I need to do LOOOOOOOOOONG drives I always packa 6 pack of SPIKE. Now that's banned from gas stations. You can still get it online though. I've got 12 6packs of spike for whenever I need them. They are INTENSE.

Caffeine and other stimulants will not give you energy, they'll only wake you up if you're feeling tired from lack of sleep. They won't let you run or do any physical activity longer, they'll just keep you from falling asleep. Caffeine is a diuretic and it constricts blood flow. It'll do basically the opposite of what you want in a race.

As lasersbee said, water with some salt in it is what the body needs. It's got electrolytes. Basically all gatorade and other sports drinks are is koolaid and salt. Also make sure to get a good breakfast full of carbs if you're doing sprinting or anything else really exerting.

Yeah i eat 3 scrambled eggs every morning and some morning oatmeal. So ill stick to Gatorade and Propel for long distance energy. how long does it take for Gatorade to kick in ? do i need to drink it like 1 hour before i run or what ?

It's not going to "kick in" it will just keep you hydrated.

Well darn i wanna stay hydrated and have more energy at the same time. i cant take Gatorade then like a NOS ?

Yea but go easy on the nos for some people it really packs a punch! plus after a while it starts to taste good

Here are some of the ingredients you may find in popular energy drinks and what they do in the body:

* Ephedrine - A stimulant that works on the central nervous system. It is a common ingredient in weight-loss products and decongestants, but there have been concerns about its effects on the heart.
* Taurine - A natural amino acid produced by the body that helps regulate heart beat and muscle contractions. Many health experts aren’t sure what effect it has as a drink additive (and the rumor that taurine comes from bull testicles is false).
* Ginseng - A root believed by some to have several medicinal properties, including reducing stress and boosting energy levels.
* B-vitamins - A group of vitamins that can convert sugar to energy and improve muscle tone.
* Guarana seed - A stimulant that comes from a small shrub native to Venezuela and Brazil.
* Carnitine - An amino acid that plays a role in fatty acid metabolism.
* Creatine - An organic acid that helps supply energy for muscle contractions.
* Inositol - A member of the vitamin B complex (not a vitamin itself, because the human body can synthesize it) that helps relay messages within cells in the body.
* Ginkgo biloba - Made from the seeds of the ginkgo biloba tree, thought to enhance memory.
