Hello LPF,

Well Thanksgiving here in the US is coming around & I was curious as to what everyone's plans are! Are you just going to meet up with family, relax & take it easy or just work etc...

I myself am heading over to Key West & the surrounding area of Florida with my mom to go camping & just experience the warmer weather, so don't expect me on LPF much starting next week :D

Awesome Silver! I don't remember the last time I had turkey on thanksgiving, I usually just eat random things :D

I'm going to my Grandfathers place an hour away. Eat a meal with him, enjoy company, talk with our cousins. And go home at night! Great fun.

Brace for the black friday hell that you evil Americans have created.

Just kidding :P

I refuse to take part in that stupidity. If I worked in retail, I'd refuse to work any hours on Thanksgiving up until 8 the morning after even if it meant losing my job. There is no reason people should have to work during that time unless they don't care.

Yes those evil greedy capitalists created that. It starts at midnight Thanksgiving night.

:wtf: I know South Carolina is practically a different country from here but it can't be that different! The morning after Thanksgiving is BLACK FRIDAY. Here almost nothing is even open on Thanksgiving, but the stores open at midnight for BLACK FRIDAY, so the parking lots are full and people are lined up at the doors in the cold by 9:00 PM on Thanksgiving night to take advantage of the sales. Stores like Walmart and Best Buy make things worse by putting certain items on sale really cheap and only having so many available at each store so that people will line up waiting for the doors to open in the hopes they can get one.

Best Buy opened at 6 PM on T-day last year... Here's a list of what was open and when they opened. There are at least a handful that opened on Thursday. It wasn't just a SC thing.

Black Friday 2013 Store Hours: The Complete List Of Opening Times For Walmart, Best Buy, Target And More Stores

This is terrible! I hope they keep it to a minimum this year with not too many open before midnight. We don't need millions of people most of whom have had too much too drink with their dinner all going shopping in the evening after dinner. I guess it makes sense though for the retail stores.

I noticed a few people here already had Christmas decorations up on Halloween! How stupid is that!

And this is why I don't do black Friday shopping, only cyber Monday surfing :p
You get just as good of the deals (most of the time) and no crowds or waits or anything.

@Greenlander-I've never gone either however I would go once just to see what the crowds were like if my parents would even let me!

Yea, at places like Walmart, the crowds would be big.
You have to be careful too though, these has been cases in the news of people being trampled, pepper sprayed and lots of big fights.

Most are just a bunch of rather greedy people who value things over the well being of another human.
