What happened to 660nm?

Does anyone know happened to our beloved 660nm? I'm looking to restock these diodes but DTR doesn't have them anymore, and I've searched here for a bit and can't find any mention of 660nm in 1.5 year! (though to be fair, can't search for "660 nm" with space because of forum limitations).

All I see is 638 this 638 that... is that what's in those beamers? If so, they're pretty crappy orange-pewing beamers then. Only useful purpose I can think of for 638 is presentation pointers or rainbows (requires other wavelength lasers too)

Is there any solid place where they still sell 660 diodes at an 'efficacy' of at least 240mW/$10?.

I'm asking in the general interest of 660nm information, but if this is too WTB-ish fgeel free to move this thread.

maybe it has something to do with 660 diodes being harder to get into the >500mw range without c-mounts

also i tend to hear 650 being flung around more than 660 and seemingly used interchangeably so maybe that too?

Thanks Encap for the suggestion. I will look into it. I have a few LPC-826, and COD is slowly spreading They run 250mW. Haven't heard of LPC-638 or LPC-840.

Did I mention... No I didn't. Anyway I searched for them and found them nowhere. And Ebay is included in 'nowhere'. I can't create an account there because they won't let me if I decline their terms of service. And I don't think I can buy there without an account.

And did I mention... No I don't think I have, but I started to categorically dislike those kind of all-round shops that sell more stuff than a junkyard and especially if they represent individuals, big companies and everything in between. Don't start me.

Wow, how have I never heard of Laserland? And free shipping ftw <3. They're right next to me... I think? -- can someone confirm whether the map on their contact page is their location or the visitor's approximate location?

Are there any other hobby-evolved shops like DTR and Laserlands?

As for 660nm the LPC 826 diodes work well for me. For a while they were selling at 10 for $25 shipped and are good for at least 250mW. Some 5W c-mount diodes near 660nm started floating around the forums a few years ago, and there is one for sale for ~$300 in the BST section IIRC.
