What could be causing this?! Input needed

Hmm, well I don't use any fire cells for anything larger than 18350s so I honestly haven't really looked for any. Panasonic makes the best 18650s and Feilong makes the best 26650s and 32650s IMO. I don't even use AW for 18650s anymore now that Panasonic released the new PD cells that have better capacity and current handling than AWs lol.

Greetings,

I have a few of the Panasonic cells and they are very good. For the 26650's I have MNKE and MOLI. Both are made in Canada and are good cells.

cheers,
Moe

Soshine is ok in small cells from what I have seen. I wouldn't use them in sizes larger than 18350 though. Feilong is tested to be superior to even MNKE by notable amounts when MNKE used to be the best(ask Jayrob) and we have Panasonic for 18650.

Careful with over drawing the Soshines BTW, their rated max discharge current is 4A if you have the 26650s.

Just got the 18650's not planning any epic builds, keeping under 2A for the
drivers

Honestly after seeing the specs on Panasonics and testing them myself I will not touch another 18650 cell currently on the market:
$14.50 Panasonic NCR18650PD 18650 3.6V 2900mAH Rechargeable Li-ion Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

This is the other cell I use for lower current draw devices(2A or less) because the capacity is crazy:
$16.21 Panasonic NCR18650B Protected Rechargeable 3400mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack / overcharge + over-discharge protection at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Ok, I received new batteries and upon testing out everything I'm getting the same results. I'm starting to lean towards a bad diode...

Based on how you describe the problem I still suggest that you trying something with the driver. It would not be a wise decision to swap out the diode without ruling out the possibility of the driver having issues. If its the diode you run the risk of the new diode being damaged just like the current one if the root of the issue is in the driver.
