I have been trying to email the folks over at Laserglow asking about my 473nm laser, and about the severe lack of customer care. I have sent countless emails to Laserglow, including one to Justin, who is VP of Laserglow without a response.

I've spent well over $1,000 and sent them one last email regarding how I've been treated directly to Justin and nothing. That is my last straw. I was planning on spending $400+ on 2 remaining lasers but not a chance.

Folks, if you buy from Laserglow, unfortunately don't expect a response. I will be contacting them to return my 473nm Aquarius and will be buying *hopefully* a 100mW 473nm unit from JetLasers, where customer service was excellent.

:)

Seems like something has definitely been off with laserglow lately. They used to be one of the premier, and most trustworthy laser sellers. They even had Justin regularly post here to address questions. At one point they had a discount code for this forum and had occasional 25% off sales and such.

Now they don't even ship >5mw portable lasers to the US anymore(Despite their >5mw lasers having all the features to be FDA complaint) and it seems like they've been transitioning away from the hobbyist market in general. I guess there's just more money in lab lasers and government contracts:(

It's unfortunate because I'd still like to get a rigel 593.5 at some point, and with your experience I'm growing doubtful about the idea. I already have a spartan(Great laser), but it's way too bright for presentation use or casually messing around with indoors.

Indeed :(

Yeah. Personally, their units don't seem to worth the insanely high price as well, after seeing what else is available out there. Plus, spending $600 on a laser with NO customer service to back it up is insane.

I would advise anyone agaisnt buying from them.

Yeah seems a lot has changed since I did business with them back in 2005. Their prices are extravagant now too as you said, seeing as what is available elsewhere now. I am sure them being put on the import naughty list didn't help them either. It is a shame that you are having the experience you are having with them especially since they are such a premium price. I hope you get it resolved soon. I was looking at their site and they sure do have a lot of, brightest laser this, and brightest handheld that. They say that about their handheld yellows too, and unless their listed output powers are grossly understated, they don't have a chance at being brighter than my Spartan. Their claims seem to not hold up with what is readily available elsewhere. Oh well, times are changing.

It is a shame indeed Lux. Unfortunately, hobbyists don't seems to be of much importance(to most companies), so they feel as if they can do away with us.

Their prices are indeed, very inflated. A <5mW 589nm pointer would cost around $700, whereas a 80mW module from CNI would be around $480, plus the host etc...

About a year ago I started buying from JetLasers and was amazed by their customer service! Really! Quick response, awesome prices, and could rely on them if I needed help. Nobody should expect nothing less then this

I don't think I have seen anything but positive reviews about Jetlasers, so it seems with them you can't go wrong. I do hope they stay that way.

I was considering ordering from them sometime in the future, but if they can't even be bothered to respond to an email then I think I'll look elsewhere.

Just out of curiosity, how long ago was their last message?

Ouch, sorry to hear that Hap.

The hobbyist market is very small, and probably hardly even worth it to them.

It seems like there are fewer and fewer good laser companies every day.

That's ok :yh:

Just got to try to find the good ones and stay with them.

This is heartbreaking. Now that I've found out that my old Rigel module doesn't work anymore, my plan was to buy another Rigel from LG. After this report, combined with my previous experience with DL, I'm really put off on ordering the expensive CNI based exotics.

I understand man. What sucks is I believe CNI patented the yellow wavelength's, or at least the common ones(589nm/593.5nm) so they are pretty much the only place to get those from.

Ugh....
