It wouldn't surprise me to find that because they can buy at quantity, they can get this diode cheaper. It also depends on the source as well. Could be that they have been searching this source for awhile. I wonder where in the three figure range this diode falls. My bet is high. Eventually, this diode will come down even more, but that could take some time.
