Hey murrat I received the filter today, thanks so much. :)

Unfortunately, the envelope did survive the torture, the IR Filter was gone. :'(

This doesn't look like the IR filter I sent! :-?
Are you sure that it is the one I sent?
Look at the photos at the first page.

Yes, it was from you, there was a letter in the envolope too. ;)
The glass filter was ripped from the metal ring, what you see is the metel ring without the filter. :'(
 
if the filters still in the envelope you might be able to still use it

that sucks :-/

if u need a ir filter fast
just take apart a cheap webcam
the have good quality ir filters in there
 
I'm after a IR filter i can fit into my 30mW DX pen. Is there a guide on how to disassemble the laser? Will an IR filter reduce the visible green power that the laser outputs?

If ANYONE has an IR filter which would fit in the DX 30mW pen PM me ASAP!!

If it is the "true" 30 you shouldn't need to IR filter it.
 
Non-true 30mW my friend which is why i don't really want to use it until i sort out this issue(our house has alot of white reflective paint).

Oh and i was watching the news in AU NSW and they said that anyone caught USING a laser could be fined 30k and jailed for two years. They did NOT mention that it had to be pointed at a plane. They said ANYONE CAUGHT USING A LASER!

What a Phucking joke!
 
I wouldn't be too worried about the IR from a ~30mw green, as IR using green optics will diverge quickly and become pretty much harmless after about 2-3 feet.

Im not sure about that... Useing my IR webcam i was able to see a bright clear IR dot on my wall useing my DX30 without a filter. with the filter on i cant see any IR through the camera.
Id put one on anyway
