Want to make own 445nm blue laser pointer - Convoy S2+ host

Hello all,

I wanted to make my own laser 445nm blue color, but all tutorial threads are old, and not all links works. Is any good combo of all parts to make own laser pointer ? I need all parts (flashlight or laser pointer host, driver, diode etc.). I have good experience with soldering (changing flashlight LED's), so i wanted to make my own. Thanks all for your help!

Yep, i saw all hosts on this site, but they are 18650+ but i wanted to make 14500 version.

Thanks to all for help, but I wanted only to try myself to build own laser pointer, but in "quite" cheap way

Right now i have 3 things - laser diode PLTB450B, flashlight host Convoy S2+, and laser housing. If someone can help, pls check if all parts will work together, and recommend to me driver for this laser diode.

Driver diameter which fit in Convoy S2+ case is 17mm diameter. Right now i need only driver and heatsink, and probably lens (in laser diode housing lens is plastic)

The lens looks like its a replacement for a Cheap Thor laser..

Look up a 3 element lens or a G2 lens.
The G2 will give more power over the 3 element but you lose a tighter beam and spot profile over the 3 element.

I believe the driver is fine.

If you care about the diameter of the beam more than power. Then G8 or 3 element.and yes that housing will fit. Not sure on the driver at the moment.

But I dont know if driver output voltage is enough for this diode... Right now i just dont know which driver will be good for this PLTB450B laser diode, for max safe power. Can you recommend to me something ? Which exactly driver will be perfect for this diode ? I wanted to run it on 18650 battery.
