Yeah -- "Humming" with no output is a bad thing

The two most likely problems are either the tube is worn to the point that it won't maintain a plasma or the driver has failed.

In any event, with shipping, it is a $20 lotto ticket.

^You should start a website dedicated to laser history and showcase your collection in it.. that way we could all benefit from it without necessarily having to be in San Jose. I would think such a site would be a very cool addition to the laser community in general.
