@XM360 your video is quite good! :D The only thing I might add would be to label the wavelengths of your lasers when you showcase your laser "rainbow" - might help people understand which wavelength numbers correspond to which colors "at-a-glance" (and showcase how cool different laser colors are - that blue squiggle on a white background doesn't really evoke a pretty 473nm beam in my head)

Do you still have all/most of those lasers in your sig?
 





You've done a good job on your video. Not easy to create educational content that is simple enough for everyone to understand. Nice job on the graph. Made it easy to see what you was talking about when it came to the scotopic/photopic luminous efficacy info. Hopefully there will be a few more people out there once published understanding what wavelength is and knowing why certain wavelengths look sometimes underwhelming compared to green, despite being at dangerous power levels.
 
Welcome back, XM. I had seen at least a dozen or more of your older videos in preparation for my first high powered laser purchase earlier this year. You are one of the very few people out there that make proper laser video reviews (not so much now, I understand). If it were not for your videos I may not have ever bought a high powered laser and gotten into this awesome hobby.

I had never heard about the concept of scotopic and photopic vision or the practical reasons to understand them until you explained it in upload #3, so you've helped at least one person now. I was one of those that just thought "555nm is king, more closer equals more brighter".

And I must know where you got that (592nm?) yellow laser and what its output is. It's glorious.

Good thinking, I’ll go back in and add that info! My signature is pretty much up to date right now.

This makes me extremely happy to hear, and I must give credit to @CurtisOliver as I also always thought 555nm was king. The yellow in that rainbow clip is a CNI GLP 5mw 589nm which I only had for a short amount of time. I now have a Dragon Lasers Spartan 50mw 589nm that I bought from @brendon7358 and will be doing a video on soon!

Thank you for your help on this peer review. I’ll pass a few more educational videos through here in the upcoming weeks as I’m trying to get this new YouTube channel kicked off with videos that establish laser basics.
 
You're welcome, its a good idea getting peers to evaluate the accuracy of your videos. As you know, you'll always get someone calling you out online for any little inaccuracies that are made. At least this way you can help eliminate that a bit. Feel free to run future videos by us. After all, spreading education on lasers and the safety is key to their proper use. Keep up the good work. Once you get a series of informative videos, I'll place them on my website if you agree to it as another resource.
 
Yes, as everyone seems to agree, it is an excellent video and a great easy to follow resource for people just getting a grasp on the basics. Once again, very well done XM!

PS- I just now found out you also do aquatics on another channel?? 😲

That's awesome!! I've always loved fish and tanks and I made my own ten gallon for GloFish when I was in middle school.

Can't wait for the DL 589nm review man!

Very nice! I really liked your intro music in older videos so I think something like that would pair very nicely with your new intro. But I'm just nitpicking at this point.

Any timeframe for your DL 589nm review?

Might be a few weeks as I have a few videos planned before that one, but it will be soon!
