Purchased this laser a while back from DINODIRECT:

Firedragon-I 532nm 500mW Flashlight Style Handheld Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit (Guaranteed), Europe - DinoDirect.com

It turned out to have a bad divergence, measured 2.49mRad and takes 4-5sec to lit a match. I attached the picture below - dot from 7feet away.

Tried to contact customer service several times for a replacement or a refund after sending it back. They asked for a description and a a pic. Also sent the second attached pic for better understanding.

After three more messages from me without a reply, I decided to create a thread here.

Here is my last updated message to them, no word from them since 19th of May.

Hi there,

I´ve described the problem quite well in my last mail, I´ve highlighted the most important part:

I got this laser I bought through the link one of your staff members given me on laserpointerforums.com:
Firedragon-I 532nm 500mW Flashlight Style Handheld Elite Green Laser Pointer Kit (Guaranteed), Europe - DinoDirect.com

I have choosen the DINO, instead of the 500mW LASERGLOW or JETLASERS unit cause I liked this host more. BUT there is a problem with the laser you sent me.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I measured the divergence to be 2.49mRad, that´s far more than it is claimed on your site (it says <1.5mRad there) and far more than I have seen any time before from a green laser.
I have attached the tablet from your site for a better understanding.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other words, the laser is more like a flashlight, it doesn´t have a thin beam like the other 532nm (green) DPSS lasers. It also takes about 5seconds for ligthning a match. With a laser with this power, it MUST lit a match in less than 1 second. The pic I attached shows the laser dot from 3 meters away.

If you can´t provide a better replacement with a thin beam, I want to send you the one I have back for the refund.

Best regards,
DJNY

Also tried to find a solution due contacting their customer service through Carmen, the owner of the Dinodirect-LPF-account here and the person who gave me her link for this purchase.

Well that wall picture doesn't show too much...
There is no ruler to show how large the Beam
profile is...

I don't know your communication time line...
but a lot of sellers don't work on the weekend..

BTW... I didn't read on the DD link that they
guaranteed that it will light a match...

or even that it can be used as a hammer...
(just making a point...:D)

Sorry to hear that.

For some reason, there are companies that think that we're dumb and we're not meaasuring power, divergence etc, hence they can fool us.

Fortunately it isn't so.

More and more people here buy LPMs, do measurements and stand for their right to get what they payed good money for.

Such stories and similar cuase problematic copmanies lose reputation and eventually run out of business.

Thank you for sharing this, and please update with any further development.

I'll keep tracking.

With a full battery the laser is up to spec.

It is "just" about the divergence.

Yes the ruler pic is going to come, but I think the posted picture also shows that the divergence can´t be <1.5mRad

If you are 3" away from the spot on the wall.... it could
be to spec...
That's why a reference point (ruler) would show the
actual size of the beam profile... I can't judge the
size by that photo... It could be 1cm in diameter or
3 feet in diameter..

Maybe it is just the internal focus that is off...

Is it not focusable? I have one of the firedragons, and the top is actually a "cap" that unscrews to reveal a focusable lens (requires a spanner, or in a pinch, a paperclip)

Hopefully it comes off and has a useable focus under there. Would suck to return an on-spec stable unit because of it being poorly focused. And that picture definitely looks like the only problem is the focusing.

The color like iR Green! no 532nm.

Is good idea to buy Glass iR filter!

I was just about to say what others have said.

There should be a focus lens, normally clamped down with a bit of glue, right under that black "cap" , i fixed one of these for a friend (had a bad lens) which i replaced, thats how i know.

Good luck.

Guys, forgot to mention that I already tried to adjust the focus by removing the cap, not really better after that. Also I opened the laser to adjust the inside (not able to name the parts) a bit, but just very little improvements.

A girl from the DINODIRECT staff is helping me out. Hope it turns out good and I can give a positive update
