The diode was spectro’d at 473nm prior to purchase. As I said have not cracked open the package and most likely won’t for a while. Thinking to resell at this point as 462nm is the color of choice for me. Sheet scan forthcoming in a few hours.

What price are you looking for, kecked. I know of members who might be interested if it is not too high. :thanks:

Think like 130.00. I can ask if he has more. I doubt I’ll actually do this. 462 is a great color. Have not looked at it next to 473 yet but I think for me 462 is perfect. I would part with the 473 diode for same I paid plus shipping. Email me if you want it. Have not even opened the package. The data sheet says engineering sample and it’s nichia.

Anybody seen diodes without a cavity. Ie need external cavity to lase? Need one in 785nm. Going lock it to iodine or rubidium if I can get steve to assist. It’s for the Raman laser scanning confocal microscope.
Ok thread hyjack over. Getting too good at it.

^^^^^ :)

Edit: I definitely interested in that datasheet kecked, and the source if you don't mind. 473nm diodes are missing unless you opt for expensive n!ch!a alternatives.

I paid 130 Euro which today is 150.00 plus shipping. Sorry forgot to grab the datasheet. Was in hurry out the door. I might trade for a 1W green 9mm diode like DTR sells and an aqua 488nm. Really need the green. Got pleant red yellow and blue and violet now. Need to add green and aqua 488. i have 300mw dpss green but I am less enthusiastic about adding the huge driver and all to my baseplate.

Seems a lot of interest. Is 462 really that different than 473? seems very much the same to my eye. now 488 sure is and 445 sure is

462nm is different to 473nm by quite a bit. Also unlike dpss's, 473nm diodes can be wavelength shifted through current and temperature. So you could expect up to 478nm.
Probably noticed best side by side.

462 ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
473 ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
478 ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦

Are you saying that at the time you bought it, it cost you 130, but now it has appreciated to 150? That is silly. You won't get a 1 watt green PLUS a 488nm diode for it. We had 473nm to 478nm in Sharp diodes here for $60.00 each and those were binned by wavelength. I got the impression you wanted to sell the diode because you no longer wanted it. No one is going to pay you more than you paid for it, especially since you don't know its wavelength.

Ok let me try that again. I paid 130 EUR. For it. That is 150.00 US dollars in today’s conversion. I got it six months back or so so I doubt the conversion has changed much.

I was saying I would trade for 1w 9mm 520nm diode and also need a cyan. Better? I expect you to be able to read my mind.

Ah. Okay, that makes more sense. I would have read your mind but my magic wand is out for repairs. :D

It would be worthwhile knowing where you got this "473nm" Diode. The price is more than twice what these were going for when Sharp put some 488nm failures out, but those are never coming back.

Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will see a reappearance or those cheap 473’s. But these engineering samples are cheaper than alternative sources.
