Hi,
I just managed to buy two 473 lab units rated at 150-200mw each. They are being shipped so I don't have then yet. One of the works fine and pumps about 160mw, the other is reported to fire up for a few seconds and then quit...I'm not sure if the power supply is shutting down or if something else is occurring. I bought both as a package deal for less than the price of one good working one would normally cost. Hope to get the second one running...I figure if it works for a few seconds then quits it must have everything needed to fix it including a good crystal set and IR diode. It should be salvageable. Anyone with any thoughts on what might be happening?

These were two of about ten that were used for the filming of the newest movie Tron so they are a neat piece of Laser history. As soon as they arrive I plan to post some pics and have some more info about the partially working one in hope someone here can help me fix it.

Hey friend. Did you get the lasers yet? Mine arrived a week ago or so. ( yes, I managed to grab one of those myself ). I love this unit. How certain are you that they were used in the making of Tron Legacy? Yes yes, the seller told me they were, but he also mentioned that the info was only verbal. So how can we find out? Do yourse work at all?

Jmillerdoc no longer has them, they are on the way to me :D
Let you know about them when they get here...

Hi!

I also bought a laser from the lot your talking about. I sent the serial number to the manufacturer and the vice president responded that they were indeed used in Tron Legacy. He provided an original copy of the reciept. Mine didnt have "pumping" issues and worked great ;):poff the bat. They were high quality units that costed $3200, with the optical lens that was custom made. There were Six lasers used in that movie. I have one, you have two? so theres 3 more out there.
