true green 200mw for 50$

I need to point out $50 and £58 plus shipping are not the same.

and actually the dx is 61.77$, or am i the only one seeing this price?

what i mean is..
it says 2true green" 200mw for 50£ (roughly 70 $)
doesnt "true green"means that iat actually uses green diodes ??????
i thought green diodes would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more expensive.....

"true" is a marketing scheme made up by DX to sell more lasers, it doesn't actually mean anything, it simply shows that DX says it is somewhat near what is advertised. Green diodes are actually crystals pumped w. IR

What, really? If you can't get 50mW out of a 500mW diode, your crystals really suck.

Hmm.. i'm not so sure about that. 10% conversion isnt good, but i'm sure there are numerous pointers out there that produce ~50 mW (real power, not advertised) of green with a 500 mW pump diode.

Prices for the higher powered DX pointers have come down quite a bit in the last month or so, but i'm not sure how good the lasers are at the moment. At $61 it might be worth to get one and find out ;)

As a company, FocalPrice really sucks, HOWEVER the 200mW pen-style green I picked up a little over a month ago for $74 stays pretty consistant around 140mW and hasn't self-destructed yet (and I'm on like my 12th set of batteries waiting for my DX order to show with the rechargeables) ...

Search for the review and specs under "reviews" - again, the customer service at FP is terrible but the laser itself really impressed me for the price, then again, chinese quality control is going to be hit or miss no matter where you buy.

Quote from website...
Note: pictures show our 5mW model which looks exactly the same as this200mW model. It also comes with the same gift box and accessories. Reported by a number of fellows from our forums, as most China-made green lasers do not come with an IR filter, this is the safest green laser to use without an IR filter as it outputs only 5mW of power where according to researches require very extensive exposure to cause health implications

I would not buy from a company that writes such a confusing description.... It states it is a 200mw but the bit at the end seems to say otherwise.
Or is it just that I am having trouble reading?
