I have the highest respect for racing drone pilots.
It takes a lot more skill to fly those.
I had seen those videos before that you had linked to Red.
That one with the guy following the train and flying between the wheels and into the moving cart still blows me away.
It's just not for me though, I'm into cinematic video and photography with my drone.
I agree that there's some idiots out there, flying near airports and such.
That's not for me.
I do want to take all precautions when flying.

We'll see how this all pans out as DJI tightens its grip on permissions and flight regulation.

For me, I won't be updating any firmware or apps.
I'm happy with the freedom I currently have before all this regulation came in to effect.

Fly safe and if you do build an FPV racer, please upload some footage, I love watching the racing drones too.

Nice find Red but I don't think it will actually work well for civilian residences.
It's not actually illegal to fly over someone's property.
You're actually allowed to, as long as you have taken off from a public area and are flying over in continuous flight, no hovering or video taking.

Yes I read those early rules, but they do change, I just don't want my toy recording GPS locations to be used against me later if I accidentally fly to close to Patty Paranoids house.

I don't want to violate anyone's privacy or annoy anyone, but passing over at 200 feet should not be an issue, but when everything is illegal it's just a matter of weather or not the authority wants a piece of you.

Just like this alphabet agency in the news that is unaccountable yet can make regulations that carry the weight of law, granted Trump is doing a lot of good, I really love the no new regulations unless you get rid of 2 existing regulations....that's beautiful, otherwise these control mongers just wright up regs all day long.

I gave up the hobby when registration was required, now that has changed, but I still want something small and fast that won't spy on me, because I am not going to be spying on anyone and I resent the idea that I could be accused of it over an intermittent signal or gust of wind.

Yes, very true.
That backflip on the FAA $5 rego was a surprise.
I'd love to see what you end up building mate.

I will probably get my Barrett first, but drones are getting better and better, I still don't like this line of sight BS

Drones flying around an airport is a very dangerous situation. Imagine if one got sucked into a Jet turbine, or worse if one was purposely set up to carry HE to down an airliner.

I like drones too, but not around aviation or other places they could inflict damage.

I know how you feel.
I have some entry level quads but I am planning to build or buy a built racer with a hobby board, not anything with built in geo fencing or black box history, not that I am doing anything illegal but I also value my privacy.

I was looking at these :

Holly crap Red... You must have $$$ coming
out of your butt...
Those are some overly expensive racing drones.

Have a look at this Y/T channel I'm subbed to.
He flies and reviews some awesome and much
more affordable racing drones..

No I'm just looking at what people put into them, I like to build most things myself and am not really ready to upgrade just yet anyway, my under 250g quads are just collecting dust ATM and the battery packs are probably not going to recover as they are cheapies and don't seem to last.

Drones are getting better all the time and as more people join the hobby they become less expensive, also I have some other wants to fill first.

BTW the video is just a black square, can't make it play.

Fixed it... You can build some of the drones he
reviews as the one in the video...

I also like building rather than buying ready built...
even though I own a Phantom 4 Plus and Mavic Pro'

I've also built a RTH HexCopter, Five RTH Quads
and two 250 size racing drones and 3 TriCopters.

How do you like the Tri copters ?

-------EDIT-------

Wow great parts list, those are good prices.

** You do need your own radio and FPV viewer. **
Of the 2 pre built ones I listed the 1st came with radio and FPV headset and the 2nd looks like it has a radio but is doesn't, no headset either.

The Tri-copters perform as good as the quad copters
but are way easier to see their orientation at a LOS
distance.

:D Thought you would like the Y/T Video Channel...
He has a ton of great videos and reviews on FPV
racing.
