TRACKING OF YOUR IGORT's LASER ORDER!

Electron, I passed on your message to him (no guarantee that it will bring anything, though. Hell, it's not like he's my roomate, more like I was "deputized" 'cause the last deputy got his 6X already and has since moved on to more exciting laser-activities... :p

Guastafeste, abbstanza bene, grazie mille :)

I get stuff shipped from NZ via standard Air Priority in five days, so I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around... . But hey, you're in the UK anyways & it should take your package four days ;) Mine, three. I mean the man lives in walking distance from the Austrian border. Next time, I'll pick it up myself, lol :p

I took my ragtop down to Grado in just under five hours, averaging 160k on the Austrian side, hitting up to 180kmh on the Italian side... I'd probably manage it in 4.5hrs but it's tradition to stop at the first Italian highway rest-stop to get a panino followed by a cappucino :D

About 10k before the border, if you swerve left instead of right, your'e headed for Slovenia instead :p I'm not sure however, if the Slovenian highway is as new as it's Italian & Austrian counterparts... .

All this talk makes me want to go on a roooad triiip... haven't seen Lago Di Garda in a while (actually, the last time was during the latest James Bond movie, lol), it's always fun to cruise the west side "wall" ragtop-down, 'cause the view is simply amazing... all the freakin' way down-down-down to the lake, lol.

Ok, I guess I've gone off-topic, but then again, the topic's gotten sooo damned boooring :tired:, who cares, right?

The Slovene highway is very nice Traveller. :D It was built less than a decade ago, IMO it is every bit as nice as the Austrian highway and better than most of the Italian highway.

Maybe you should take a roadtrip down to Ljubljana and hit me up for a few beers. :drunk:

Well that's definitely something to think about :yh:
Say... how are the local police & what's the official (& unofficial...) allowed speeds on the highways...?

In Austria, official = 130kmh, unofficial ~150ish, Italy = 130kmh/160ish respectively. I do 160/180 but on the Austrian side I keep my eyes peeled for the grey radar boxes and unmarked police cars "hiding" next to the highway with their portable radars... :na:

Heh, a GPS with speedcams and a nice US-made detector will take some of that stress away and let you concentrate more on the road :) I always thought the damn police cars hiding after corners to catch people by surprise are more responsible for accidents than drivers themselves :yabbmad:

They won't catch the mobile speedcams and the helicopters though, and the police has both of those over here, patrolling on the only two highways built in about a century :D talk about irony...

Anyway, back on topic, I've been checking my mailbox every day this week and so far no good news, I'll take a break until Thursday when I hope for a nice surprise form Igor... Until then, the saga continues! <queue "young&therestless" music or smth.>

Heey people,
If traveller or one of you can make a plan for all of us we can make a visit to Slovenia.
It's a nice place to visit.
We can also make a review of Igor's busy life ;)
Hey traveller what car do you have?
I am a motorcycler so these speed limits kills me! :D

Does any of you think to give more time for Igor if Blurays won't be shipped since Friday?

Anyway, back on topic, I've been checking my mailbox every day this week and so far no good news...
no, don't wait! He told me he contacted everyone - if you didn't get an email with his stock 6X instruction document, write him & let him know!!!

Hey traveller what car do you have?
I've got a '95 Mustang GT, 220ps (HP). It's a lot meaner from traffic light to traffic light and a lot more humble on the curvy highways snaking through the alps, but it's my cruiser and the best way to enjoy it is top-down, 140kmh max... otherwise we have hurricane conditions and I can't hear myself think, lol ;)

As for the what-to-do-after-Friday scenario, I don't think we need to worry about that. No, I have no guarantee for you (or for myself), but I really think he's finally managing to catch up with everything...

For now though, just waiting it out - and yes, the suspense is killing me too ----> :pop:

Hey,

Official is 130km/h...so around 160ish, but as you said you have to be careful of radar boxes. Police cars that are sometimes "hidden" :) next to the highways are standard issue white and blue painted.

Basically its the same as in Austria and Italy, but they have been adding radar boxes lately. :shhh: Their location is well known though, haha.

a friend that signed up for batch 3 is out and i am headed that way, if i don't see a progress report from igor ( no one else ).
3 months today since i submitted my order summary.

a friend that signed up for batch 3 is out and i am headed that way, if i don't see a progress report from igor...

I'm sorry, but if I hadn't already paid him I would have (for the time being) already looked elsewhere, so I have no idea why you guys are still "here"...

Igor is top gun when it comes to his meticulous design and building, no questions there, but there are other good designers here, you know. Here are two top designers, of which I'm already a proud owner of their work:

Daguin - a beautiful matching set of Dorcy Jr. hosted 180mW 6x and 250mW LCC.
LikeitBright - my "RomiRed", a custom Cu heatsink, enclosing a 280mW LOC *and* driver in a sealed module... all in the same Romisen hosts (or other variation if you prefer).

And there are more great builders, including Kenom, Milos, Spyderz20x6, Mohrenberg & Jake21, just to name a few. If you have a little bit of DIY talent, JayRob has some amazing kits on offer. Due to the current interest from various Gov. entities though, you may have to look a bit harder but there are alternatives and alternate methods to reach said persons.

Do yourself a favor and take the money and run. To one of the other great builders.

Unless of course, you enjoy doing this :banghead:

As for those of us already in a transaction with the man of the hour... well it's Thursday and guess what wasn't in my mailbox today... what about the rest of you, :anyone: get theirs yet?

Brtaman, how many days should we account for, given "registered priority mail" to another EU Country? I'm guessing it's priority (and not express) due to the $7 pricetag because (naturally) Igor didn'T mention the exact method of shipment...

Hey Traveller...
I'm not even involved in the IgorT sales thread... but I drop in once in a while...

What I can't understand is why IgorT can find the time to E-Mail individulal Members
like you (and others) but can't (at the very least) post info on his sales thread...

That to me would take less time and cover more customers than E-mailing a few..

IgorT has also told you that packages were sent out... He must definitely know
who's name and address he sent them to... so why does he not post that info on
his 1st Page Sales Thread to keep his customers informed and less frustrated...
(maybe you could pass that along to him... it would certainly not be a bad thing
for him to do)

This is just a suggestion... Like I said I have not purchased anything from IgorT...
but I do know how to keep my customers happy by keeping the lines of communication
open...:yh:

Jerry, you've been here longer than me so you know that while Igor is a key contributor, he has his, ah, quirks. I have some brillant adjectives but I'm saving them for my review...

I think you and Ken are fine examples of how to communicate with your partners :gj: (I hate to use the word "customer", feels a bit to formal for our humble community). I made this aspect of the whole process very clear in my recent review of Ken's Kenometer because it does add a lot of value to the "experience" (imo).

But that's the way it goes. I would be willing to overlook his random and raw art of communication for his above-average build quality (not to mention the customizations he's made to satisfy his own extreme requirements ) if it wasn't for the fact that the laser(s) are waaay overdue.

As for the mis-communication, this was not appreciated and will not be overlooked, come review-time... :tsk:

I solved the problem.
Igor has been paid to make an experiment with a big sample group about humans patience capacity.
He will be paid a great amount of money after this experiment ends and people who can survive this patience test will get a Bluray :)
That's why he keeps us waiting with no information. :D

Note: Am I getting mad?;)

Honestly I do not know the shipping time...it should be quite quick though. IIRC ordering from Germany took around 3-4 days to get to me after it was shipped. Don't hold me to that though, I have been quite broke due to some unexpected expenses and have not ordered anything in a good couple of months. But, no more than a week in my opinion or around that...

Haha, frankly I am starting to believe you're right! It's like one of those "whoever keeps their hands on the prize the longest wins" contests where people hold on for hours on end to a car/boat/whatever... maybe the last one to give up will win a 100W blueray canon or something :lasergun:

Note: Am I getting mad?;)

Yep... we all are :banghead:

I promise I'll forget all that waiting if I receive a 100W bluray cannon :)

Heey where is the smiley box?
How do you put these smileys in new forum style?
:)

but the fact is they are and today my postman cometh, empty-handed. That's five business days since I go the "all done and shipped" from Igor.

I am sooo not a happy camper right now... :scowl:

p.s. I informed Igor and he will look into it. He is not surprised by the time it's taking and has suggested I, ah, relax... . Furthermore, he sent them "priortiy mail" with simplified tracking - you can only verify that the package arrived (after the fact).

None the less, another weekend w/o the opportunity to enjoy the thing... like most, I have a fulltime job and M-F doesn't leave all that much time to enjoy the hobby... :(
