My buddy made me a series of hitter boxes aka dugouts from aluminum and plexiglass.
No pictures, but they both had an exposed slot for the "bat"

The plexiglass was great because you could see how much...um, tobacco you had left.
I wanted to market them but ironically we were unmotivated back then.

Great design.

Thats a lot of cool machined things. You should start making things for the forum. You would be a great contributor of hosts and other quality items.

hah I know right. I wish.. I need some of my own machines. that was last year in my Manufacturing class. (I got Senior Manufacturer of the Year )

In that 4th pic that huge top is probably the funniest thing i made. that huge thing is 4 pounds of steel. about 3.6 inches across and 3 inches tall. It seemed like a competition between me and a few other people to make a top that could spin the longest. my record is a 1.5 inch brass top that spun for just over 8 minutes.

They're the most simple thing to make but somehow the most fun

Does anybody else machine out their own tools? Boring heads, part stops...

That's what I usually machine, laser parts are just the fun stuff:)
