Planes dont always fly flat and level - if a plane is doing a steep banking turn or similar, that 90° beam may still enter the cockpit. A slim chance, but still possible, especially on smaller aircraft whos side windows are larger compared with a jetliner.


your idea would look cool from space on a timelapse - a kinda laser mexican wave.

Or a nosediving Kamikaze

Watching from ISS a Wave would be cool. But seems not to work sadly.

umm... How are you going to make sure everyone keeps every laser exactly 90' perpendicular to every plane in the sky at all times as said planes travel across the sky?

P.S. - Another cool thing we could try to do is get everyone to point their laser at the moon at 22:05 GMT, and we can blow it up! Or at least set it on fire.

Please, as i said. Dont get dramatic now. I am sure you could hear and see a Helicopter early enough to switch it off.
After all it was just a thought and i recognized it was not one of my best ideas that night i wrote that thread.
So please release it from bad ghosts and kill this thread.

Just wanna let you know. Once i have seen a Airplane. Even a Helicopter.
My Home is one Mile away from Zürich Airport maybe thats why. I´m doing this hobby since six Years now and never had any trouble because i really try to act as careful as possible. I know you have good meanings but keep beeing realistic please. Befor you hit a Plane with a few millimeters Light you gonna win the Lotto-Jackpot.
