In the US the DEA has "scheduled substances" and they also have what are referred to as "listed chemicals" which are mostly chemicals that can be used in the manufacture of controlled substances, the listed chemicals fall into 2 categories. Category 1 being the stricter category. Basically listed chemicals have tighter controls in the form of limits on the amount that can be purchased at one time but it mostly just means that manufactures of the chemicals and places that sell the chemicals have to do a little extra paperwork keeping track of how much of the listed chemicals they sell etc. Hydrochloric acid is list 2 which usually just means the company selling it will submit paperwork to the DEA that shows how much of it they sold. List 1 chemicals require the same reporting on the sellers part as well the seller documenting the person it is being sold to.

Obama was never for legalization , weed should be legal tomorrow. Not at work but then again neither is alcohol which is far more enslaving and has devastating side affects on some people.
Talk about eliminating the national debt.
Almost everyone would go out and buy some just because they could.
Yep no guns, fireworks, potato cannons are also illegal
Nanny country this one - cant do anything fun.
First time I got to handle a pistol was in a country 14,000 km away. Here you can have guns, but you have to jump through hoops and red tape to have one, and you're not allowed to carry - the weapon must be transported to and from a shooting range in a locked box, seperate from ammo. When the weapon is at home it must be kept in a gun safe approved by police. This of course is to only keep the honest people honest - theres still plenty of illegal firearms around (e.g. bikie gangs with them etc).
