why would you want the DX 100mW? the price is bad compared to the UltraFire, which is only a 10mW difference, and it's weak and can break easily.

o you must be talking about the lab laser? i thought you ment the true one.
yea i got the money in cash for my laser, i just need to find someone with a credit or debit card i can give it to that will buy it for me. sucks having to wait.
 
ive talked to 3 different customer support people on dealextreme and 2 of them werent sure which batteries to use, and 1 told me to use some unprotected batteries but i dont wanna use unprotected...well how dangerious cna unprotected batteries be?

and arent there resistors in these lasers? if i used a 3.6V battery dont resistors keep it from overcharging the laser?
 
Protected or unprotected batteries make no difference to the laser, as both provide around 3.6 volts. This is more than primary lithiums that provide 3.0 volts, and could be a problem if the driver regulation isn't good.

The main problem with unprotected cells is that you can easily over-discharge them, which can render batteries unusable. Explosive malfunction due to deep discharge isn't common, that normally only happens when over-charging the cells (i.e. unprotected cells in a bad charger).

so is an unprotected battery and a nano charger a good or bad combination? i still dont know what batteries to get...
 
Use any charger you want but:
don't run more than says .5 amp and don't let the cells see more than .5 volt over it's rated voltAGE.

I ran a unprotected lith cell down to under 1 volt of lower limit and it took a rea........lly lo....ng time to to get back up. But it's fine now.
 
Sometimes they recover... eventually. I use unprocted CR2s for my kai laser (couldnt find protected CR2s anywhere). The best way to deal with them is just to stop using them the moment it starts getting dimmer.

But protected CR123s are commonly available and shoud be fine in this light. The protection circuit just cuts power completely once under rated voltage.

Get protected cells!
 
and they only have 3.6V protected...there is none..

what if i buy some ultrafire 3.6V's and use the 3.0V nanocharger to make it 3.0V?

Nope, that will not work. We have already been over this.. ;D But I did forget the voltage of the 3 volt battery might be higher when it comes off the charger. I don't know for sure as I have never had any experience with the 3 volt rechargeable's.

Seriously, what I would do for now is get regular non-rechargeable batteries for it and wait to see what others experiences are using rechargeable batteries. You might end up being surprised as far as how long it will run on regular batteries.

But if you insist on rechargeables, then the links to the batteries and charger yew.sir-name posted is what I would get.

and if i use the nanocharger rather than the expensive one what will happen? im cheap and dont wanna pay $12 for a charger lol
 
If I recall correctly the reviews on the nano were not that great. I would not skimp on a charger especially when it comes to li-ion batteries. You may have to dig a little deeper into your pockets if you want to play it safe.. ;D
 
YES, finally! i got a $75 prepayed debit card! im setting it up and ordering it now!
unfortunatly the laser is backordered.
 
Well that sucks. Hopefully they will get more soon but at least you have ordered it. Now the wait.... ;D
