Matches and balloons in the focus, last so few picoseconds, before becoming dissociated in their elemental components, that no flame have the time to develope for the matches), and the balloon surface have not the time to "pop" (for the balloons) ..... so, no, for matches and balloons, it's unhelpful.

Same for the tape, btw.

Lighting white matches sounds kinda racial and non-PC 405 nM doesn't seem to care about color ( colour) ;-)
