"The Trail Blazer" - arrival of the "Zacop 520nm, 1350mW, optically corrected" laser.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The room looked like a geriatric's disco.... :crackup:
And just what you got against us geriatrics? :D
Like I tell me son. As soon as I remember where I put my cane, I'm going to hit him over the head with it. :crackup:
That or take my teeth out, and throw them at him.
(just kidding). :)
LOL Bob, too funny.
Well a quick update.
Had a chance to test out the Trailblazer, aka Zacop, under direct noon sunlight and boy it just throws a beautiful green dot wherever you point it.
This was not with the corrective optics attached but just with the supplied basic G3 lens.
You can see the dot at the base of the trees just left of centre (the photo and YT video doesn't do it justice, in real life it really stands out).
I'm still working on a nice test for the Corrective Optics, my beefy clamps arrived so won't be long, hopefully the weather will hold.
Hope you enjoyed my quick test.
It is amazing just how visible a 1 watt green is. It's such a crowd pleaser even in the day time.
Even more so at night, so bright.
The more I see this build the more I'm kicking myself in the butt. I saw the sales thread at night before I went to bed and almost bought it. Than I told myself I'd sleep on it and decide in the morning. Guess that's where the statement "you snooze you lose" would apply. Woke up in the morning and it was getting relocated to your house. Hope your house enjoys that beauty of a build. :) That's diffidently one to hang on to.............. :drool:
I couldn't see your green dot on the photo or the video. Here's a suggestion. Next time don't aim a green laser at something green. It is very difficult to see it. I looked over both of these for awhile without ever seeing the dot once.
This is true Paul but I actually did it on purpose to show that it really does show up even against green grass at a distance.
I admit though that it's difficult to see because once you upload the pics and video the compression ruins any fine detail in the pic/video especially on YT.
When I do the real test with the corrective optics I plan on doing it on a surface that will show the dot much better.
Below I've highlighted the dot for you, if you can, watch the youtube clip in full screen mode buddy.
