What will the lifetime of a lpc-836 be when run a 500mA?

Exactly 54 years 3 hours and 31 mins give or take depending on your flux capacitor

What is the best mA to run it at that will give me a long life with reasonable power?

what will the average lifetime of the diode be with good heat sinking when run at 400ma?:thanks:

Turn around the question. How much time do you need on your laser ?
5 minutes or 1 hour a day for burning ?
In fact you don't spent much hours in the whole live expectancy of your laser. Most of us set the current at the max. If the diode burns out in few hours which is alot of time, no big deal. Pop in a new LPC826 diode for 10 bucks and you have another long time frame to play with.

@Blord Thank you very much, but I am maybe going to sell the lasers and I am thinking to put kinda like a warranty thing on it and want to know how long I can guarantee the diode.
