The, "I want to build a laser", Thread

As far as I can tell the only spelling mistake is "absoluetly" :)

Amazing guide, must have taken a huge amount of effort to write the entire thing. Feel free to use any of my videos at YouTube - charliegamer's Channel if you feel they'd help (they're probably not focused/zoomed well enough to be useful unless you have the item in your hand, though - I need a better camera).

^ And you're going to make me read the whole thing to find the mistake! Now there's helping a man out! One word wrong in a whole post like that.

No, no, no... Don't trouble yourself Charlie... Just sit back and make me wade through the whole lot... It's too late now anyway, I've found it... And changed it... So there! :na::crackup:

Thanks for pointing out the error. I so hate tpyos in my posts!

It did take a while to write but as long as it's useful then I'm happy. I'll check out your channel too for any useful titbits.

I field a lot of questions, and now I can just refer them to this thread...

Morgan, would it be alright if I expanded on a few of the sections with a bit of my own work?

I gotta do something to kill off the time...

I don't see why not if it's relevant and accurate...

PM sent.

I've re-written my section, and I'll send it to ya to decide whether to merge it or for me to stick it into my own thread.

It's much more comprehensive, detailing things that would be useful when planning a build.

Thanks designedfor1!

That sounds good goninanbl00d, I look forward to reading.

I can't PM you files so I've sent you what I've got so far.

It still needs the formatting and pictures/datasheets.

Once it's up I'll be sure to backlink it to your thread. And once I get my hard drive back from RMA I'll make some banners for the thread and I'll also *try* to make some signatures for everyone who supports the thread to wear.

Also, this thread deserves a sticky.

Where can i get the driver schematics for a 2.2v IR diode?

Could i just build the driver on rogg and just tweek the pot?

Yes you can! The current you require will determine the resistors you need to use but the DDL driver will provide the voltage to maintain that current.

[EDIT: NVM, answered elsewhere!]
